WP5540 problem.. I connected the tablet and turn on the pc, the tablet was connected via ps/2 and serialport.. I use a serial to usb adapter(which is properly installed) because my PC dont have a serial port, installed the drivers and softwares but nothing happens.. the documentation says that there should be an icon on the taskbar but theres none, it can't be detected at the "add new hardware" command.. but the tablet's led lights on, which means its working and has power, but I think it just can't be detected... my OS is winXP.. help me out! i need your help badly!

I am having the sam problem with a uc-logic wp4030 only mine didn't even work from the start. The box says it is windoes xp compatible but my computer says windows does not recognise the driver hence no action. The tablet itself seems ok as the lights working etc.

I can only find the driver on www.superpen.com (very hard to find...just luck & google) in case this was recognised where the enclosed software was not but still no luck despite install/reinstall!!

Drivers for this device manufactured by Shenzhen Ugee Technology Company and labelled by various vendors can be found at http://www.uc-logic.com/download/download_driver.htm

The driver version 5.0.1.0 is the latest as below:-

Graphics tablets
Device driver for 2000/XP/XP64/Vista
Driver 5.01 2007.08.23
5.0MB

I don't know about USB to Serial but it might be worth a try emailing the company support folks at service@uc-logic.com

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have recently bought an Aiptek 6000 hyper pen (from a car boot sale) Is there any way of running it through usb ports instead of havving it as a mouse pad. Any help would b much appreciated thank you

Hello,

You can buy serial to USB adapters as well as ps/2 to usb adapters. This may or may not work though. It depends on how the drivers were designed. Its worth a try though. Your local PC shop should have these items or use ebay to purchase.

I want to install a Microsoft wireless optical mouse but not sure how to do it.

Hi,
With the wireless mouse you also have a wireless adapter that is connected via usb to your computer. Insert the usb adapter in an available usb port on your computer. Wait for a few seconds until windows verfies and installs the new device. Then press the sync button located under the wireless adapter and at the same time press the sync button under your mouse.
The mouse will be ready to use.

Does the driver on the Wacom site work? I'm trying to do the same thing, but need administrative rights, so I haven't been able to attempt it. http://www.wacom.com/downloads/drivers.php

Wacom serial power to usb connection

If your table has a USB connection and requires a powered USB port, then don't waste your money or time. If it's the other way around and the table is powered from another source, the converter will likely work.

Im using a serial to usb connector to connect my artZ II tablet to my laptop..

Sorry, I figured it out, it was because the serial to usb adapter i was using needed a driver, and then my computer recognizes it as an extra serial port. So, during installation it needed to be searched for automatically from my serial ports.

Serial to usb wacom tablet problem

I just got Vista and it killed my Intuos2 w/serial to usb also, but here's a half solution:
Download Wacom driver 4.78-6 http://www.wacom-europe.com/int/downloads/driver/driver.asp?lang=en. Make sure you remove any other Wacom drivers, tablet, and reboot. Install 4.78-6 driver and select serial port when the choice pops up. Plug in your tablet with the serial to usb adapter, wait a few seconds and click retry. Complete the install and reboot.
Your Wacom tracking should work now, but certain things might not work like pressure sensitivity and you'll get annoying error "reinstall driver" pop-ups.

I think you can aslo buy a PCI-serial card for your computer and skip the serial-usb adapter since Vista doesn't support the adapter for Wacom tablets.. but I'm not sure if there's a working Vista serial Wacom driver either.. or ever will be. The age of XP and Legacy support is at an end my friends.

Can not install ArtZ tablet

Check the port it is connected to. Wacom seems to only recognize serial ports 1-8. I use a USB to Serial adapter and had to reassign it to a lower port number from 12. Go into Device Manager, select the connected device, right click to select Properties, the the Port Setting tab, Advanced button, COM port number. Ok you way back out. uninstall the Wacom software, then reinstall it, following the reboot prompts. It loads a service that tends to hang if the device is not connected when it starts. I had started disabling the tablet and the service just so I can avoid a reboot when I change ports.
