Offiejet 6110xi wont plug and play, not being recognized by my PC

My 6110xi was printing fine but when I tried to scan, it said that it wasn't connectec to my PC. In trying to fix it, I manged to uninstall it and now I can't re-install it - its not seen as a plug and play printer when I try "add printer" in the printers & faxes on control panel.
I can't find my installation disk - can I dl the needed files somewhere?
Thanks!

HP OfficeJet 6110 xi all-in-one prints fine but will not scan. Message says not connected to PC (but it is). I have the CD and was going to re-install printer, but the message said it was installed properly. Any ideas?

printer wont scan to pc - Lexmark X5650 ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER

Wont scan

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

My HP6110xi All-In-One doesn't want to scan

First, scans and copies don't really use the computer. Can you print a document from your printer. If not, then your problem is within the computer.

If it does print then....

Try using the scan feature within the HP solution center. It works on mine but the scan button on the printer does. Also some art programs have and "ACQUIRE" feature under file to scan with. (Sometimes called TWAIN.)

Hope this helps, so you can start scanning.

good luck

Failure to comunicate with printer

Do you have your printer directly plugged into the back of your computer? When you installed the printers software and driver, did your system recognize the printer directly plugged into the back of your computer. If you are running XP with plug and play, it should recognize it and install correctly. Try doing a test page after installation. Also, if your ink cartriges are not installed correctly, it will not let you print. Also, make sure your photo software is pointing to your printer as a default.

If this helps you, please rate me.

HP OfficeJet 6110xi All-In-One will not print

Presuming you're using a usb connection, try changing the cable with another just to ensure the cable's not defective. If that doesn't resolve your problem, try the following: Right click on My Computer. A window titled System properties appears. Left-click the Hardware, then Device Manager. If you're using a USB Connection, scroll down the list to Universal Serial Bus Controllers and Click the "+" to open the list. Your printer should appear there. Right click on the name of your printer click "uninstall". Do the same if you see any red or yellow markings on any of the other USB controllers. Then restart your computer and Windows Plug & Play will reinstall the drivers. Update your software and drivers from HP's website.
