I have been on the phone with the PSN and they said they are having mantanice done on there end. There original ETA was 9pm EST but has now been moved to 10pm. Just be patient.
Rented Movies, Trophys, Games will also have an affect with this issue until its resolved.
The first thing I would do is a System Update!!!!!!
This happened to me playing Army of Two until I Updated it.
With games and Some Blu-Rays (Iron Man I had the same problem) require updates to play and function properly!
Just hook up to your Network (Router or Modem) Create a Playstaion store account (To the Right on the PS3 Crossbar) Then go to the 2nd to left on the Crossbar, Then all the way up.
Grab the update and you should be Good!
This happened Twice to me, So now I always update and No probs!
Good Luck!
All you need to do is replace the harddrive and/or reformat the current one which will require removing it and using a PC to reformat it if it will read. If not , simply replacing it will work I would recommend an upgrade at that point as well if you would like. I upgraded to 250GB when this happened to me. System works just fine now.
