Question about Canon PIXMA IP5200 InkJet Photo Printer

Canon Pixma 5200r

I have replaced all of the ink tanks with genuine canon chromalife carts. When I now try to print it says that I am trying to use 2 black carts and should only use one and will not let me print. The thinner 8 BK cart red light is flashing and it is this cart that appears to be causing the problem

Sadly updating the drivers means that now my computer doesn't even recognise the printer exists.

Check the part numbers to make sure they are identical, and then get new drivers

no worries, check for up to date printer drivers here

sounds like perhaps your computer needs to be tailored for this application. That's not unusual for a higher end printer.

if you're open to a shared screen service call, send me a note from my online profile contact information.

Ink Cartridge in Canon iP 1300 is not recognised by the Printer. It is showing the following error message "An error occurred. Some ink cartridges cannot be recognized." and a message box is...

All of the newer printers have ink tanks that are 'chipped out', meaining that you can't just refill a tank with a syringe like in the olden days. If the printer reads the 'chip' on that tank and it says it's empty - it won't work even though there is ink in it.
Some refill places just put ink back into used tanks, but DO NOT have a chip re-setter, so the printer does not either: 1) recognize the tank, or 2) thinks it is still empty.
I have had very, very good luck with an on-line company called ABCINK.com for my Canon MX700. A five pack ( 2 Black carts. and one each of cyan, magenta and yellow) costs me only $18.95 delivered w/shipping. Genuine CANON carts. would have been almost $100.
Your Canon 300 is older than dirt. I know, I had one. Try another ink tank or attempt to CLEAN the print heads and nozzles. But really, I bought one of these old dinosaurs for $30 bucks 10 years ago, so you may want toss this 'boat anchor', because as soon as you, and if you, can get it back up and running - something else will fail.
Go drop $60 on a brand new 4-in-one printer that scans in documents & pictures, can scan in a printed page and convert it to a Word doc using OCR (Optical Character Recognition), makes copies, prints from your computer and has an Automatic Document Feeder and Reader so that you can load up 50 pages to copy, scan or whatever. (Also, it might be time to replace that old Penty 3 processor. FWM, Freekin' Wal-Mart has some ****-Jimdy 15.6 laptops for $325 - $350 out the door with tax and a whole ONE year warranty.)
DO NOT BUY A H-*** MACHINE. THEY ARE JUNK. THEY ALL OVERHEAT & JUST RECENTLY THEY QUIT MAKING THEM. REMEMBER THAT COMCRAP (COMPAQ) GOT BOUGHT BY H-***, SO NO **** FROM COMCRAP EITHER.)

Colour don't match the screen light blue on the screen will be light pink when printed

If you have used non canon ink tanks that will be the problem.'

If you have used genuine canon ink then you may have placed the tanks in the wrong place.

Also try using genuine canon paper as that could also be the problem.

Can you use regular stamp pad ink to refill a Canon MP240 (210 cart #)?

Definitely not. It's completely the wrong type of ink and will ruin the print head. In the long run, it's better to buy the genuine carts. If you shop around on the net you can get them at sensible prices.

Printer does not recognize cartridge which was good yesterday

Hi

Tough one here but try removing / replacing cartridge, failing that try new replacement as each cartridges have their own electronic chips. I assume you are using genuine canon carts.

RECOGNITION OF GENUINE CANON INK CARTRIDGE

I posted the original problem. Although the cartridge was genuine I had taken it out and reinserted it as I wasn't sure I had loaded it correctly the first time. Advice from my local retailer was that this was a mistake. Canon PIXMA printers no longer recognise a cartridge once it has been removed. Solution was another new cartridge which I shan't remove until it's empty. When this second cartidge is empty I shall try the first cartridge again as it is still full and unused. It has yet to print anything! Why Canon's helpdesk couldn't help is a mystery. I conclude that Canon's printer management systems are unfriendly to users. They are friendly only to Canon. I hope my experience will help others especially those considering buying a Canon printer. dudbob
