You didn't mention what BIOS you have..(re: pheonix or ami or Award) so you can try "BIOS" or "CMOS" or "ACER" or "PASSWORD" or you can remove the CMOS batttery for a few minutes
Sorry. It seems that your battery is dead. If your laptop is working fine on AC power only (with the battery disconnected), then your battery will need to be replaced.
1.change another Installation CD of Windows XP service pack 2 or install Windows Vista. 2. if any track of your CD is corrupted, then this type of error comes. 3. sometime if your hard is not formated correctly, then also some fatal error comes. 4. when formating always do full format, donot do quick format.
I would suggest you just plug it in and do not power on the laptop for a few hours. Then try. If it persists reboot into safe mode and disable hibernation then reboot
I can't forsee a problem but I'd backup my system and buy a backup battery if it were my system. There are so many computer parts/battery stores online these days but I can't recommend any particular one. Shop around and do some price comparisons. I've had luck buying batteries on ebay, but use caution there or you might end up buying a battery that's deader than yours. Cheers, Rick
