Common problem - normally caused by low battery voltage. Disconnect battery for 10 mins (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR RADIO CODE) reconnect battery - then follow instructions on dashboard to reset park/brake. Use this method for all p/brake faults as 95% of the time it resets them. Hope this helps - good luck.

Ensure that the battery has plenty of power. Maybe start the car and leave it to idle for 15-20 mins. As they will not power if the voltage is below 12v. If not check the fuse for the motor.

If fault still consists remove boot interior carpet trim from the right side of the boot. Locate the module and disconnect it and reconnect all the connectors. If it still wont release there is a special tool that jaguar uses that is plugged into the wiring harness to bypass the module to relase the handbrake.

Worst case senario is the handbake cables are cut and the motor is replaced

I had the problem that the parking brake refused to apply after freeing off a seized caliper piston. This was resolved by disconnecting the battery and connecting the + & - cables (not the battery) together to dump the residual power and clear the PB memory. After about 30 mins. reconnect the battery, start the engine and apply the foot-brake then apply the parking brake and all is well again.

2005 Jaguar S Type. How to turn off or stop alarm on it?

It is a regulatory safety device. You need to fix the Emergency Brake, not find a way around defeating it.

How to make parking brake release when changing the back brakes.

If you look at http//:www.bluejag.co.uk you will find details and photographs re changing the rear brakes.
Essentually all you do is sqeeze the moving half of the handbrake cable activator on the rear of the caliper against the fixed half and you should be able to pop the cable out of its locator. Then remove the circlip around the outer sleve and the cable should be free.

Jaguar S-Type,please help me!!The handbrake is blocked!!!I think for frozen weather...

First: Pull UP on the handbrake and then push the release button. The button can only be released while the lever is being pulled up so pull hard. This will release it the lock for you to bring the brake handle down.
