Hi,

Overheating is considered as one of the major causes of shutdown problems in laptops.

When any laptop runs, it generates heat and if it does not cool down, it may result in random shutdowns.

Thus, to get rid of this issue with your HP laptop, you should keep it on a flat surface and allow the fans underneath to work.

The use of cooling pads for laptops is also recommended.

This helps in removing the excess heat.

Get more information to fix HP Laptop shutting down error. Hope this helps you.

Seems like it mioght have the blue screen of death. go to google, and search for a program called "Bart PE" download this program, run it and let it burn to a CD. Now, boot the laptop from this CD, and let it load. Now click on go, and find the command prompt. type in "CHKDSK C:/r" and let it run. once it finishes,l reboot and take the CD out. Now your laptop should work perfectly. Best of luck dude ;)

See if you can hit F8 before it goes in to windows and pick start in VGA mode it might be the video drivers or a driver that is not meant for that laptop.

Just follow is these steps:- 1.Goto Start---->Run. 2.Type services.msc then hit enter. 3.Find out the Automatic updates or windows updates(in case of Windows Vista or Windows 7). 4.Change it to manual or you can stop that(Depends on your wish).

Acer Aspire 5002WLMi PC Notebook Laptop shuts down automatically

  • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  • Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected.
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
  • When you are finished with all troubleshooting2_bing.gif, close all programs and restart the computer as you normally would.
If this does not work you will probly have to go back to factory settings

Toshiba A135-S4527 will not automatically shut down

If you truly believe the problem happened right after installing the new mouse, then you should start by uninstalling the software for it. Go to Control Panel -> Software -> Uninstall. If this fails, you can use the System Restore utility to rollback the Windows registry to a time before you first installed the new mouse software. Have you tried to unplug the mouse and not use it, atleast on the attempted shutdown process?

LAPTOP SHUTS DOWN

Hey,

a few possible problems:

1. Bad power connector
Check the cables and your battery.

2. Virus
If you dont have antivirus I suggest you get www.avast.com download the home version.

3. Overheating
Does the laptop get VERY hot fast? monitor the temperatures.

If you are unable to solve the problem, id recommend to take it to a professional, it would be easyer for you and me.

Id recommend turning off automatic restart on failure.
Heres how to turn that off:

when windows is starting before the logo comes up, press f8 untill a menu shows up and select disable automatic restart.

if you do that you might start seeing some blue screens when your computer shutdown instead of just shuting down, these screens can be used to solve the problem if you get such a screen, type up the all the codes. Example 0x00000f1 (0x000000...)
