Yes becasue the webcam software that came along with your webcam is using your audio device and when you play your dvd , the audio devise is in use and hence no sound from dvd. If you know what application came with your webcam, you can just goto task manager (ctrl+alt+delete) and disable it..In future to prevent it from loading, goto msconfig and uncheck that application...your dvd audio should come on fine.

I need more information. Which operating system are you running, what computer do you have? Did the sound ever work, and if so, what did you install that stopped it from working?

I have a SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio soundcard in my Windows XP pc and in the Midi Music Syntesizer, I have the following Syenthesizer default sets in the control panel: SoundMAXGeneral MIDI and...

Ok right click on the speaker icon next to the clock and press adjust audio properties, a new window will open up with about 5 tabs on top, click on the audio tab and click volumn under sound recording and another window should open with mic, line in, stereo mix/what you hear etc now if you see stereo mix or what you hear put a check mark in the box so you can play music via the web.
But if you don't see it click on options then click properties and list of name's should appear scroll down and find stereo mix or what you hear and check the box and it should now appear next to the mic.
Hope this helps.

I can't play dvd player to my disc drive.what will i install?

This are the possible solution to your problem: 1. Try to checked the connectivity of your disk drive to power supply connector and IDE/ZATA cable connection to your motherboard. 2. If the first solution is OK then that's good, try now to check if the driver software of your disk drive is properly installed for the second step, if not then installed it by placing the cd to the cd rom then run. Follow the instruction for the cd if available. 3. To check the connectivity of disk drive go to the start button then select MY Computer then click it,from there you must need to look for this: DVD - RAM Drive (E:) it means now that your disk drive is connected properly. 4. If the step 1,2, and 3 are already done but still not functioning/playing also the checked the cd you insert if it is for dvd drive purpose if not replace for a new cd/movie that is compatible to dvd drive, and also checked for the cleanliness of the cd and sensor of the cd reader.
Hope this simple solution could help you to solve your problem. Mam/Sir don't forget me to rate me up I really appreciate what ratings you have given to me.

DVD in my computer will show video but no sound. Will play CD with sound.

If CD plays fine but DVD doesn't then probably it's the DVD that has a problem and not the computer. Does that happen with all your DVDs?

Drives d and e wont even play a cd but the contents of disc can b

HI, WHAT IS THE CONTENT OF THE CD. IS THIS A MUSIC CD? IF IT IS , ALL YOU NEED IS A SOFTWARE LIKE WINDOW PLAYER OR ITUNE TO PLAY THE MUSIC. YOUR WINDOW PLAYER MAY NOT BE SET UP AS AN AUTOMATIC TO PLAY YOUR CD. OR YOU LOST OR THE SOUND DRIVER IS DE ACTIVATED. YOU CAN CHECK THE SOUND VOLUME FIRST, OR CLICK START, CONTROL PANEL, CLICK THE SOUND DEVICE AND CLICK THE HARDWARE TAB AND CLICK THE WHAT KIND OF SOUND DEVICE RIGHT CLICK AND THE PROPERTY WILL APPEAR CLICK THE UP DATE DRIVER AND FOLLOW THE COMPUTER INSTRUCTION. HOPE THIS INFO WILL HELP YOU SOLVE YOUR D & E DRIVE PROBLEM.

DVD Sound Missing

Hello folks,
If you install another program like Nero xxx. Nero adds or can take away window media player's format from playing certain codec’s. Any program installed like burner software can do the same. This is a software issue. To help fix it download & install codec's from this site. This should help to regain sound for DVD formats.
http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Codec_Pack_download.htm
Free download.
Other items. Some PC's can loose DVD sound in windows media player 11. Check that you're version of windows is up to date. Last ditch effort. Insert the DVD & open windows explorer. Right click on the DVD drive & see what the format is. (Ex: ***.vob, ***.mp4, ***.divx). Than search either Microsoft or Google for the matching codec's. Download & install it from the web.
Suggestion. Use only one playback software program. Bouncing between programs is not suggested. Find which looks & sound best for you & uninstall the others if not needed.
If by chance non of the above has helped or fixed this issue, please list the program you are using to play DVD's & the format of the DVD.

Good luck all!

I do not get sound

maybe you need a driver for that, because once you put a new pci hardware in your computer it may need a driver to recognize the computer what hardware was inserted. hope that helps!

No Sound when I play a DVD, but I do have sound when I play a Music CD

Are you sure your player has got the right codecs to play both audio and video of the DVD you have burnt?

PS: Try installing the Ace Mega Codecs Pack just to make sure you have all the codecs. (Remember though that this software will install all the required codecs as well as the unneeded ones...the ones maybe required in the future probably)
