Question about Westinghouse LTV-32w4 32.02 in. LCD HDTV
I bought a 32 LCD Westinghouse TV 12 months ago. It stopped working so I brought it to a TV repair shop. They determined that the main board went out. The TV's power supply is working but there is no screen or sound, nothing. The TV repair shop had to call Westinghouse to inquire about a replacement part. Funny, Westinghouse doesn’t make replacement parts for this TV. Westinghouse said we need to ship it back to them and they will send us a new TV. Okay that sounds good but they wont pay the $100 plus shipping costs for us to ship the broken TV back to them. Also, they make you send them the TV before they send you the replacement TV. That can take days. If the customer's TV went out because of the company’s faulty product, the customer shouldn't have to dic around with this shipping issue – Waa, Waa! The TV was nice but for it to conk out in one-year shows what shi++y merchandise Westinghouse is selling their consumers. “Buyer Beware”

All of these inexpensive HDTVs have bad sound. I connect all my HDTV's to an external Sound.

Similar problem but on LTV-32W6. It takes up to 5 minutes so we can hear the first sound. Customer support said nothing can be done since warranty has expired. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do also except spreading the word about poor audio quality on Westinghouses and disappointing customer service.

In the case of anyone that has a dead tv (no power light, sound or picture). there is a company named vance baldwin that sells parts for that model ltv-w4. in your case you need the smps power pcb. probably costs about $60.00. real easy to change take the screws out of the back. the board has about 4 screws and 3 connectors you have to unplug ang replug to the new one. if you feel it is worth the money

Actually there is.
If audio comes up, albiet with a delay, then the most likely problem is a dried electrolytic capacitor in either the power board or the audio amplifier .
If the theory is right then you should soon stop hearing audio at all, when the capacitor dries up completely.
On the bright side, it should be an easy fix.
One thing you are quite right about, though - WESTINGHOUSE CUSTOMER AND PRODUCT SUPPORT SUCKS BIG TIME - AVOID!
