The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Nikon Transfer or Picasa.
Hello - aldarroch: You must be running Windows 2000/XP/Vista, Mac OS9.0 or later, have the software and cable provided with the camera to download images to your computer. From your statement that you have "no disc" to download pictures I take it that you don't have the needed software. Unfortunately Vivitar, unlike most camera manufacturers, doesn't seem to provide easily available software for download. I suggest you email them requesting the software or phone them toll free for the info from the contact information available on this PAGE. If I've misunderstood your problem please come back and restate your problem with more details about what you're missing. Good Luck, Mikeywaf
The software CD would not help you unless you have a very old OS. Your best option is to invest ($10 - $15, sometimes less) in a CF card reader with a USB connector. If you have Windows XP or newer, or any version of Mac OS X, your computer will see the card reader (and your card) as a separate drive, and you will be able to download the pictures right off the card.

Transferring pictures/videos with the USB cable 1 Turn off the camera. 2 Plug the labeled end of the USB cable into the USB port on your computer. 3 Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on the camera. 4 Turn on the camera. Note: EasyShare software opens on your computer. The software prompts you through the transfer process.

If you are using Windows XP unplug your camera from your PC and uninstall the Kodak software. You don't need it to transfer photos to your PC. The next time you connect your camera (turn the camera on) to your computer it should recognize it and you can use Windows built in transfer software. Details are here:http://www.organizepictures.com/2006/11/5-easy-steps-to-transfer-your-pictures-using-windows-xp-photo-wizard
Through the software disc you can transfer the pictures and edit the pictures . Actually This camera is plug in play device, so when you connect the camera to your computer it will show up as removable disc and this way you transfer the pictures to you computer. So you dont need to have software for this.
And the software is not available online, If still you want the software please call the manufacturer and the # is 877 397 8200
