Hey there Idfire, the part which you are looking for is the Sony HVL-F1000 . It comes with a mounting plate which attaches to the bottom of your camera via the tripod connection. The hot shoe is built in to the bracket, seating the flash to the side of the camera. It connects via the ACC port on your camera. I will provide you with a link to the details:

If the link doesn't work, please just copy and paste.Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Can I download dsc h5 software that is up to date?

Why would you do that? If the camera is not working perfect, you won't be able to put in any firmware. Updates only can be done when the camera is working perfect. Updates only try to change little flaws i the camera. Most of the time only the professional camera and camera's with interchangeable lenses get updates, to make lens corrections possible. For the H5 Sony never released a firmware update.

How do I turn my flash on--I have a sony cybershot DSC HF camera! Thanks!

Do you mean a DSC H5? If so, at the top of the control button there should be a symbol that looks like a lightning bolt with a arrow on the bottom. Push that to go through the various flash settings.
You can get the manual here:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=DSC-H5&region_id=1

The 'Read This First' file is a quick guide to using your camera and is also available on that page. And, if you didn't mean H5, then you can change the model.

I have a Sony DSC-H5 and the shutter button does not allow me to push it half way -- only all-the-way -- the macro won't focus.

It is a common problem on this model. You need to replace the control assembly to fix the problem. Here is a link to show you how to replace the assembly and where to get the part.

This seems to be a design flaw on the T series. Literally thousands of T series owners have had this problem at some time or the other on their "well-used" camera.
This sounds harsh, and maybe even dangerous, but it's not : use a rubber mallet, or better still, smack the bottom of the camera on smooth hard surface. it fixed my problem.
