OB= out of balance(check clothes for uneven load)

FL= overfill condition (check pressure switch)

CI= Current Limit (motor has drawn over 5.5amps) usally caused by overloading unit

You have something stuck in your pump. You need to remove the water by using a shop vacuum on the drain hose to **** the water out.
Remove the sheet metal on the bottom by removing three screws, and locate the water pump. It's in the lower right side of the machine, if you are looking at it from the bottom. Pop off two clips that secure the pump, and the two clamps which hold the hoses on.
Look inside the pump and find what ever piece of debris got in there and jammed the impeller.
Fish it out of there and make sure the impeller is free by trying to turn it with your finger or a butter knife. If it's free, stick it all back together and your in business.
The codes are thrown because the machine has lost its ability to pump the water out. So, it tries to spin while full of water. That gives you OB (out of balance). The FL code is because the old water is still in there when it tries to fill again.
Since the pump is jammed, the conputer thinks there is an overload on the motor which runs the pump, so you get Cl. They are all related to the same problem. Junk in the pump.
This is a chronic problem with these machines. I have done this to mine a number of times.
I have never needed a new pump.
This repair takes about 10 to 15 minutes to do. Once you've done it, you get even faster.
Hope this helps. It's easier than it reads.
God luck,
Richard

WASHER NOT WORKING CODE CI

This means Instantaneous current overload.

This may signify problems with the drive motor, thermal protector or motor controller. Overloading the washing machine may cause this.

In the middle of washing a load of clothes the letters fl showed up and the washer started beeping what do i do about this and what does fl mean

FL - Overfill Condition
This error message occurs only if the machine control board
sees an open circuit at P17. If this is the case:
■ Press Stop/Cancel to clear the display.
■ With the power disconnected, check the upper harness
connection to P17 on the machine control. Look for any
contaminants on the contacts. There should be a closed
circuit in the harness between P17 contacts 1 and 3.
■ Replace the upper harness or machine control as necessary.

Whirlpool calypso top load washer stuck on FL

Fl means flood
you either have a bad flood switch or something is in the pump.
the pump is located under the washer
if you where to tip back and remove the 3 5/16 inch screws and look to the very right you will see the pump.
it could be these 2 things and or it could be something in your sump balls. which you would need special tools to gain access to.
let me know if this helps

Whirlpool calypso top load washer GVW9959k stuck on FL

FL=FLOOD CONDITION
I bet I know what the root cause of the problem is. TOO MUCH DETERGENT. Why do I yell that? OK here is what happens. Suds make the computer monitor work overtime to wash the clothes. The the computer measures the amount of water being used. The computer is also trying to correct the suds problem by adding water during hissy-cycles. (I call em hissy cyles.) Solution: Clean the soap dispencer use HE soap and use the right amount which is:

HE: (2) Tablespoons Per Wash load

HE 2X (double concentrated) : (1) Tablespoon

HE 3X (triple concentrated): (1) Teaspoon

Sorry to say but they are right. The Calypso washer was a horible design given to whirlpool from maytag. I would suggest you go buy new machine. Buy someting that looks simple and easy to use. The more complicated the unit the more problems you will have down the road.

I have a whirlpool calypso washer and it is showing an error code of C1, what does this mean and how do I fix it

CI (an "i", not a "one") and OB are related - overloaded, the washer's motor controller will draw too much current and either the average current will peak ("CA" error) or the instantaneous current will spike ("CI" error). OB - out of balance - indicates of course a load that is not balanced, or is too heavy. Wash less items and see if the problems lessen. That is what we have had to start doing, but we still can wash a BUNCH of items in this type washer!
