As soon as I turn my computer on dell monitor goes into power save mode immediately after I just changed out DVD burners
When it have this kind of error is a problem of the powerboard.
Anyway you must open it and look at the all capacitors and if are them inflated, if them are inflated must change them.
But can be a problem with inverters... control the transistors - MOSFET on the powerboard.
Good luck!
The burners may have nothing at all to do with this. Try the monitor on another computer (a laptop will do) if you have one. If the problem perists with the monitor, then the moniitor has failed. If the monitor works on another computer, or you do not have another to try, then start the computer and tap the F-8 key to boot to safe mode. If that gets you a display, then fix the display settings, also check the device manager for any signs of hardware trouble, and make any corrections that may be needed, and reboot. If safe mode does not get you a display, try disconnecting the new hardware. If still no joy, I'd say it's the monitor.
