Water pump on F&P DD603

Water pump starts and stops when emptying tub. Tech replaced complete pump stator and rotor damaged by broken glass about a year ago which solved the problem then. I checked for damage to rotor but none evident. Does anyone have a repair manual or tell me where I can find one. Dishwasher has worked well for 5 years in two person home.

My Kenmore Elite Oasis HE washing machine constantly default to OL which indicates the machine OVERLOADED, but is isn't. The won't drain properly and shuts off leaving my clothes extremely wet.

The OL code also means that the motor is working too hard to spin the tub. This could mean that the tub has shifted on the shaft, debris is inside the mechanism or that the shaft has developed rust on it (increasing the friction between the drum and the shaft). Other problems could be the RPS sensor (tub speed) or the stator is cracked.

First check for debris under the wash plate. Remove the cap from the center of the wash plate then remove the bolt and plate. Next can you grab the spin basket at the top and move the it up about 1/2" or 3/4" freely? If you can't move the basket, then the basket to shaft connection is suspect.

If those aren't the problem, you'll need to disassemble things and check the rotor and stator for damage. Replace any damaged parts.

One other check is to run the washer when empty. That will confirm that the OL isn't due to too many clothes or too much detergent.

I hope this helps.

Drum willnot move on start.it just thumps

If the washer won't agitate the stator assembly at the back of the washer tub might be bad or damaged. The rotor is essentially one half of a motor, it interacts with the tub by creating a strong electro-magnet. If the rotor fails or is damaged the washer might not spin or agitate. Check the rotor for damaged magnets or other defects.

DS603 fisher paykel motor noise when starting up

The pump and motor for DD603 is the same device. It is a rotor lodged inside a cavity under the drain filter plate. I am assuming the dishdrawer is drained properly and at end of the wash there is no water sitting inside. You need to take the rotor device out from its cavity and check for damage. It depends on how confident you are in replacing parts in your washer. There is a pump located in the discharge line of the washer that, if it gets bound for one reason or another (doesn't spin), will make some peculiar odors. This happens because the pump motor itself is often impregnated with different chemicals and finishes to make the parts more water resistant. When a pump gets bound, the stator portion remains energized and begins to overheat, unless there is some sort of safety device installed, like a thermal fuse. The smell is those chemicals/finishes being overheated. You can try to manually make the impeller turn by hand by taking off the pump cover but when a motor gets bound, even if you manage to get it spinning again, it will tend to fail not too long after. Some reasons for bound pumps are seizing or dirty bearing surfaces, debris stuck in the impeller or between the stator and rotor, or swelling of the stator casing, which tends to happen from overheating and/or water infiltration causing rust on metallic parts. Rust crystals expand as they grow, so anything near a rusty part gets squeezed and pushed away. Best (and cheapest) bet is to replace the discharge pump.

Machine knocks and walks when spinning a small load

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
-----------------------
The problem is the brake. The odd time what happens is moisture gets on thebrake rotor and the squealing is heard when the brake stator is applied to stop the tub from spinning. This moisture, may drip down from the tub onto the brake rotor which could indicate a leaky tub seal. If you can't see any dripping when you fill the tub with water, don't worry about the tub seal. Many times than not the brake is just going sour on it's own.
Sometimes you can fix the squealing by cleaning the rotor and stator with a light sandpaper, such as emery/sand cloth. If that doesn't work you will need to replace the brake stator and rotor. If you need to replace them replace both parts together, don't just change the stator without also replacing the rotor, or vice versa. And here's a bonus tip: the brake spring exerts 200 pounds of force. If you try to remove the six 5/16" screws without using this brake removal tool, serious injury can/could happen!! The splined part in the middle of the brake needs to be greased really good before putting the brake back on!

The drive/motor pulley on these washers is plastic. It can wear and start to slip on the drive belt, might be best to replace the belt at the same time if you find a worn/ground up motor pulley. The motor pulley presses onto the motor shaft, cutting or breaking the old one is common when changing it.
---------------
noises also comes from bad wheel bearing would make.]
If the tub seal lets go water will weep into the tub bearing. This will rust the basket shaft and normally wreck the tub bearing. Once the bearings starts to get worn enough it usually gets very noisy. The tub bearing is pressed onto the outer back half of the tub shell assembly. Normally need to replace the inner basket/shaft assembly  and the outer shell with the tub bearing.
Sometimes the inner basket support will crack, this can give an clicking or banging noise as well.

Washing machine problem

Patrich, basket spinning while agitating has to do with the brake system. You either have a broken brake spring, defective brake rotor, defective brake liner or warped stator. There are special tools needed to perform the repair as the spring is under a lot of pressure and could cause injury if not experienced. Catriver.
