I have a hoover/maytag Legacy canister that I bought at HomeDepot. I don't have manual and I can't get the bag back in. Any help would be appreciated.

I bought the same Maytag canister vacuum on sale at Home Depot and was sold bags that did not fit.  Not only do I not have a manual, I can't locate bags for the unit.

I have the same model purchased at home depot. It is comparable to the Hoover Duros Canister. The bags you need are type SR.

Go to hoover.com, scroll down to downloads, put in you complete model number and if available, you can download it from there. If not there, try thehooverstore.com, maybe they can get it for you.

I don't know how to change the bag for the machine, bag # SR 401010. Vaccum is Maytag Legacy series. Is there a diagram or picture to show how to replace the bag. Thanks

http://www.hoover.com/CustomerService/Manuals/Default.aspx Enter your model number on Hoover's website to view or print a manual. I suspect that you may have accidentally discarded the bag frame ( part # 93001544 ), which holds the bag in position.

How do i fit the hoover bag

If you remove the top of the vacuum via the clips on the side you will see the empty bucket. Where the hose connects is where you will fit the bag from the inside. On the bag you will see a hole with cardboard around, this will then push over the outlet.

Please don't tell me it's SO old they deny ever having made the thing! Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover Legacy 830 – Model #U5079-910 The vacuum model is not that old and I would suggest that you contact your local vacuum dealer to see if they have a new or a good used metal piece that would work or contact the Hoover Co and they could send you a owners manual or instruct you to download the manual from the Hoover website. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://www.hoover.com Telephone Contact our Customer Service Department at 1.330.499.9499 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST www.A-1Vacuum.com 1-800-657-1874 If you cannot find a local dealer near you they can ship you the parts UPS.
