Question about Samsung SyncMaster 214T 21.3" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Resolution message I keep getting a message telling me that my monitor resolution isn't set to it's optimum resolution. I have duel samsung syncmaster 214t monitors but only one is giving me this error. When I push the menu button on the monitor it tells me that my resolution is set for 1920 x 1200 instead of 1600 x 1200 but I don't know how to change this.

I've tried this and it shows the correct resolution as it should be. Unfortunately the monitor keeps giving me the error message.

I went this route before posting this problem and both monitors are showing the same resolution. There is a menu button on the monitor. Can this be used to reflect the correct resolution setting?

Right click on your desktop and choose properties. Click on the settings for your problem monitor and you should find the option to change the screen resolution.

Click on the settings tab and then the advanced button to find more options. You should be able to flick between monitor 1 and monitor 2 and set them independently. Maybe the way you have chosen to use the dual monitors may be in conflict. Dual monitors can be either set up as independent to each other or as effectively two monitors working as one. It is here that you specify which way to display and what to display. Graphics card drivers also have an icon in the bottom right tray which allow further configuration options.

Samsung SyncMaster 2233SW Monitor "Not

The "native" resolution of the monitor is the "optimal" resolution -- it looks best to use this resolution.

So, right-mouse click anywhere on your Windows desktop "wallpaper".
Click Properties.
Click Settings.
Move the "Screen Resolution" slider to the recommended settings.
Click Apply.
Click OK.

Samsung syncmaster 913v gives message ' not optimum mode"

The 913V has a native resolution of 1280x1024. If you use a higher resolution than that, you'll get slightly blurry text. If you use a lower resolution, then images will be slightly choppy around the edges.

To get rid of the message, set your resolution to 1280x1024.

In Windows XP, you do this by right-clicking on the background (desktop) and selecting "Properties" to bring up the display properties.
Select the tab marked "Settings" and look for a "Screen Resolution" slider. Move that slider to the right until it displays "1280x1024" and hit "OK"

Not optimum mode

It is complaining because your PC video resolution is not set to the monitor native resolution, which is 1280 x 1024 @60Hz. Try setting your PC resolution.

The optimum resolution for this monitor is 1280x1,024 @60Hz.
The resolution setting is done at the PC not at the monitor.
After 5 years, more likely components failure will be the filter caps in the power supply section, that will be the first thing to look for inside. You can see failed SAMSUNG monitors here:

Not optimum mode

This means your computer windows resolution is not display in the correct resolution which your samsung LCD will take.

What you need to do it boot the computer in safe mode. (pressing F8 at start up and select safe mode) This should bring the windows to start up in the generic 800x600 resolution.

Once you are able to see the display in safe mode, go onto the display properties and change the resolution.
* right click on desktop -> properties -> settings

Please rate this if it solves your issue. If you need further assistance please post.

OK you need to try this monitor on another pc so as to write off a faulty graphics card. If your settings on monitor match the pc and youve tried the auto settings button, there is a faulty lcd for replacement.
