Got a Grundig colour tv model GUVCD2800B. About 2 months ago all the digital channels disappeared. No matter what menu I went into they wouldn't show and also there was no menu to get them back. I looked in the manual and it said to view / tune in your digital channels turn the tv off then turn it on pressing the P / P- buttons then the channel you wanted. Tried this but it couldn't find the digital ones, just the analogue. My friend came round and pressed loads of buttons and somehow we managed to get into a menu that allowed us to reset the digital channels and turn on the digital receiver which when we went into that menu for some reason had been turned off. Got it working but the other day lost the digital channels again. My mate came round but we couldn't get that menu back up. Any ideas? Regards Tim

Re: Grundig tv loses the digital channels
Hi this sounds like a problem alot of people have with your type of tell it boils down to the signal coming into the telly depending on you arial your using. What you need to use is a newer digital arial and its always best to call someone out to do this as they can meter the signal stength and get the arial into right place once this is done you should find that you will no longer lose the channels.

A high pitch sound can be a capacitor losing power it would sound a bit like a fire work. most have back up on the board but it put more pressure on them the more times you use the tv. would check them and replace. all of them can be 5 in a row in some models.
If you scan your channels you will find out if it is digital. Say for instance you get channels 2-1, 16-3, 12-2, 12-3, then your TV is digital. Now if all your channels have no dashes and your channels come up 2, 12, 9, 16, and so on then you have an analog TV. Since this is a walmart brand there is not any online support that I can see. If you bought this a few years ago then again your tv is more than likely analog.
I'm sorry, but I have not worked with Grundig TV's, radios yes, TV's no. However, The menu shouldn't be hidden. The first thing I would try would be to UNPLUG the set from the wall, wait about a minute and plug it in again. This action should reboot the micro processor. On some sets, there are two levels of menus, main and advanced. You would want "channel setup" and /or channel scan. You may also look in the back of the manual and see if it list some service dealers that you could call for help. I hope this helps. Electrode
What brand of tv is it ? You could have a bad tuner or a change in the voltage supply line feeding the tuner . What type of antenna do you have ? outdoor or rabbit ears ? Also does it retain the channel line up or does it clear them as well ?
sounds like bad CRT, some of these sonys have had defective CRT issues, usually all will come and go sooner or later (all 3 bad), you can pull the speaker grill off(either 2 1/4" screws on bottom or 6 1/4" on back sides) and pull off the Crt box cover (2'X3' piece) and lightly tap the CRT's with tv on, if they flare or get colored streaks in pix they are bad, CALL SONY 800 # and complain, also could adjust G2 (Screen control for color) for short patch. Will need new crts.
