Monitor problem my computer broke so i plugged my blcd monitor into my old pc till i could fix it.there was a line vabout 3cm wide of horizontal lines flickering running straight down the center of the screen like a barcode. i cgot my pc fixed and plugged the monitor back into the main pc and the barcode is still there. it makes windows , web pages etc really hard to read. hqave i bust my monitor? Comment by mcbonley, posted on Feb 28, 2008 Nope. There's a problem on your videocard display. Comment by micromaster, posted on Feb 28, 2008 You've upgraded the monitor or the video card, and it's incompatible with the rest of your system. sorry i should have said, my system is a high spec quad SLI gaming system running windows xp. it has been happy with no probs for about a year. while my pc was being serviced i plugged the lcd monitor into my old pc tempory just to get my email etc thats when i first got this barcode problem. i figured what you told me above. and the problem was the old system. but when i plugged the monitor back into the gaming system (which never had vthis problem) the barcode was still there. i havent changed canhy hardware or drivers.

Your screen resolution is not right. As you cant see to do anything you can boot into safe mode or vga mode and change your screen resolution to suit the monitor. I am assuming that the barcode bit is the windows but very scrunched up. If this display is additional and on top of a normal windows display you have a hardware problem

I have this problem about my monitor, every time i open my computer a horizontal lines appear on my screen, my monitor is BenQ a flat screen ... can anyone tell me what happen and how to fix it ...thanks...

Could be multiple different issues here.

1) Your video card is getting old or if you recently replaced it may not work with your current PC.

2) Degauss your monitor using the settings directly on the monitor.

3) Download the latest drivers for your video card and mess around with the display resolutions as the card may not support your current resolution.

4) Your monitor itself may be the culprit and you need to send it in for repair.

If your still having issues, provide me a few more details about the problem and I may be able to further assist you.

This is bad news, the problem is the screen panel itself, replacing the display would exceed the price of a new monitor. It is far cheaper to buy new, than to try and fix a unit that will cost an arm and a leg.

i think your vertical IC ( if vertical lines are shown) / horizontal IC ( if horizontal lines are shown) of your monitor has damaged. you may contact a mechanic and change the corresponding IC
