28-02-2007

Dear sir,

I have LG 45V model monitor.

Problem was Characters and video both vibrating and sine waves like both sides of screen. I have changed 150 uF / 400V capacitor in SMPS. Vibration problem was solved, but new problem starts that black lines/bars moving from top to bottom. If I adjust Voltage adj. port VR901, Black lines goes but Shhh... Shhh... sound starts.

Lines increases with sub brightness adjustment or screen voltages changes from FBT.

Pl. guide me,
Thanks,
Atul

Your monitor supports a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024. If windows fails to give you the option of changing to this resolution and those below it then please follow these suggestions:

Update your video card drivers, if you don't know the manufacturer of your video card try windows update.

Install the latest drivers for your monitor as well.

Hi sir. when i watch any video songs or movies

your videoes have a small pixel say 320x240 so when you blow it up to say 1440x900 the player has to ADD pixels that dont exist. so you get an unclear picture.

Out of range

Try lowering your refresh rate from 85hz (or higher) to a lower value around 70hz.
This usually will correct out of range issues.

Problems with my DCL9A

As posted here http://www.fixya.com/support/t315752-dcl9a_white_screen.

Capacitors have many functions but I would most certainly check your powersupply inside the monitor. Capacitors are also used to remove the 60 hz Sine Wave Ripple (hum) that commonly causes interferance in electronics. Though the AC has most likely been converted to DC a side effect is pulsed DC. The capacitor charges up and slowly discharges to smooth out the pulse. A bad capacitor wont charge and discharge or work less efficient than before. Either way the whole point is . . .
Wether your experiencing a white screen or simply interference, check all components related to the power supply first.

Monitor problem

Your request for the exact problem will require a signal injector and use of an oscilloscope or even more test equipment. One possible cause is the contrast set to minimum.
