    HI,

I have the same problem with my Viewsonic VX910: A line of pixels running from top to the bottom of the screen is always a very light blue, even if it is not connected to the PC.

Do you have any more info about the display cable? Even a more technical name for the part? Although I am confident I can replace one, I've no idea what to search phrase to use to find the part.

Thanks for your time & help,

    jack

Your Display cable (inside your monitor) needs to be replaced.

I would look on ebay to try and find the part and then take it to a local tech to replace it for you as I would not recommend anyone take apart a monitor (LCD OR CRT) if you had never done so before.

OR, Buy a new monitor.

Thin vertical green line

Could you please specify what type of screen this is? Or any other information that could help identify what type of screen it is?

A thin vertical line in a screen could be a faulty cable, faulty graphics card or even that the screen is faulty itself. But with more information on the screen the problem would become clearer.

I have evenly spaced, rows of two vertical green and red lines from top to bottom of my vizio plasma P50HDTV10A

Somehow when switching between the tv and the dvd my wife encountered the pink and green, thin, parallel, vertical lines on the screen. The picture was visible with the lines. I turned the tv off and on but the problem persisted. Unplugged tv for about two minutes and after plugging it back in and turning it on the vertical lines very gone and the picture was back to normal.

Vertical red lines on screen

LCD correct?

There are 2 types of lines they may be showing, both requiring the replacement of the LCD Panel.

1. Delamination Lines- they are usually multiple vertical lines that do NOT flow from the top to bottom of the screen. Looks look water dripped down or something similar

2. Single/Multiple Vertical lines - This is normally 1 or maybe a few solid vertical lines that travel from Top to bottom. I belive in some cases they may only travel to the screen center.

In both cases, this will always show when the TV is ON. Even if there is no signal being input to the TV. There are other possibilities but these can be the most common. Both require a new panel.

Vertical lines and purple artifacts when the camera is aimed at bright subjects

Current LCD display technology can reproduce about 300 different levels of brightness. Brightly lit scenes or light sources may exceed this brightness range, causing a temporary disruption (artifacts) in the live display. Artifacts are part of the display, but they are not part of your recorded image. If you take a picture while you see artifacts on the screen and then display the picture on the LCD, you will no longer see the artifacts.
