I have an ACER 310P FLATBED SCANNER and I moved to WINDOWS VISTA,and I like to operate my a/m scanner because I am used to it and am very satistfied with its performance.

You could try the following.
Start/Programs/accessirues/System Tools/Compatability wizard.
and reset the system to the operating system the scanner was made for.
But be warned if it is a scanner with Win 95/8 drivers it is likely not to work
This is because the scanner firmware will only operate with DOS comments not NTFS commands.
