How to Change a Yahoo ID Name for a Chat Room |

INSTRUCTIONAL STEP TO FOLLOW
From the main page of Yahoo.com, click on the "More Yahoo! Services" option at the left side of the screen. In the pop-up screen, click on the"Chat" option. The following page will direct you to a place where you can download Yahoo! Messenger. Make sure you download the correct version that is compatible with your operating system, and that youclosely follow the appropriate steps for installing the chatting tool. Wait to be asked to enter your Yahoo! ID and password in order to sign on.You may already have a Yahoo! ID if you have previously signed up for a Yahoo! service. The majority of users typically have a Yahoo! ID from using Yahoo! Mail. You can sign on with the same user ID and password you use for your Yahoo! Mail if you would like. But keep in mind that members of a chat room might have easier access to finding out who you are. The safest and best option is to create an alternative ID name and password. Instead of signing into Yahoo! Messenger with the user ID you already have, click on the "Create Yahoo! ID" option at the bottom the Yahoo!Messenger page. A new screen should appear that prompts you to create an entirely new user ID. However, this time, only include the minimal information needed to create a user ID. For example, you do not need to include your alternative email. When finished, click on "Create MyAccount."Now that you have an alternate Yahoo! ID, only use your newly created user ID for when you enter a chat room. You can still sign onto Yahoo!Messenger using your normal Yahoo! ID to chat with trusted friends.Once you are signed on with your normal Yahoo! ID, you can switch to your alternate user ID before entering chat rooms. The following, final step will help you with this simple process. Clickon "Profile" in the top toolbar, then click on "My Profiles." Now clickon "Edit Profiles." You will be taken to your normal Yahoo! profile.Click on "Account Info" in the top, right-hand corner of the page.Click on "Edit/Create Aliases" on the right-hand side of the page. You can now add the new Yahoo! ID you have created. Once this is complete,go back to Yahoo! Messenger and click on "Join a Yahoo! Chat Room" frothe "File" option in top toolbar. At the top of the chat-room pop-up,you now have the option to switch your Yahoo! ID before entering a room.

My desk top comp was purchased in 09, the last couple of months it has kept getting slower and slower, green screens will apper and I will have to restart the computer. this past week it has been...

Hi,

Switch ON the PC, boot the PC in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button after you switch On.

Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows.

Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->System Restore

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next
Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

After reboot login to windows and

Go to 'Start' and then Run
write "msconfig" inside Run tab and press 'enter'
inside the 'System configuration utility' window click on 'startup' tab then uncheck all the applications except your current antivirus and press apply then 'ok' and then 'exit without restart' option.

Now right click My Computer and go to properties tab.
click 'Advanced' tab then under performance menu click on 'settings'
go to 'Advanced' click on 'change' and increase your virtual memory to 2048 in both spaces.
Now restart windows.

To quickly restart windows press CNTRL+ALt+DEL
inside task manager you will find all the open applications.
right click on each application and click on end process tree then ok

Close all your apps like this and you will find your windows a lot faster and now you can reboot or turn off your windows as usual from start button.

Next time you login to windows your issues will be resolved.

If you feel that my answers have helped you getting solution to your problems then please give a vote.

Thanks.

Please help me to fix pc registry problem for window xp please

First try to do a System Restore.
  1. Open the start menu and click all programs.
  2. Go to Accessories.
  3. Go to System Tools.
  4. Then choose System Restore from that menu.
  5. When System Restore opens choose Restore my computer to an earlier time and hit next.
  6. On the calender see if you can pick a time before you started having problems. Choose that day and click next. It will run and should reboot the PC. It might take a little bit just let it do its thing.
If that doesn't work try this.
Open the My Computer icon on you desk top. If you don't see it on your desk top it will be in the start menu on right side of menu. Left click to open it. A window will pop up that show your drives (C:), (D:) and so on. Right click on the (C:) drive choose Properties from the drop down menu. The next window will have some tabs on the top. It will look something like this.
4dba2e9.jpg
Click the Tools tab. There will be an option to Check Now. Click it and put a check in both little boxes and click the start button. It will say the PC needs to restart to preform this task. Restart the PC and walk away till it gets done.

Hope this helps.
Good Luck

Need help my desk top monitor is showing a sign flashing saying no signal detected need to see how to fix or what might be the issue with desk top

This is the message shown when you power off your computer but you leave the monitor on. If your PC is on but you still see this message then it is a video problem. It could be as simple as a loose connection somewhere in your video cable (either where it plugs into the monitor or where it plugs into the PC). It could also be the monitor-many have different input modes and maybe the input mode changed somehow. Then again something could be wrong with the video card-are components loose on it? Check all of these, in that order (easiest to hardest), and I think you will have found the problem.

Hope this helps.

another suggestion is boot the system from your OS disk, if you have one, and repair or reinstall OS. Reinstall should not cause you to loose any files.

when you try to turn on the system keep on taping the f 8 key on the keyboard , you would see windows advanced boot options , you can select safe mode with the down arrow keys , try to click on administrator . then click on yes in the pop up screen . now click on the start menu , click on controlpanel , you would have an icon say user accounts . click on your user accounts and you would have an option where you could change your password :-)
