Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles. If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive. It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.
We need to isolated the problem on what cause ink cartridge not print in color. When even you installed new cartridges, It is necessary to run the print nozzle to clean the print head. Also, please try to clean the print head manually by removing all the ink cartridges and rub the print head into a white paper with alcohol until ink flows and then return it back and run the print nozzle for 2 times.
Then try to print again.
If it does not help you, please let me know to give you more help.
You will have to clean the print head, not just the ink cartridges. Here's how to clear blocked print heads: -run several head cleanings and print the nozzle check pattern -if that doesn't fix it, remove the cartridge(s) from the blocked head and drop alcohol where the ink enters the printer. -reinsert the cartridges -run one head cleaning -wait about an hour then run some head cleanings. -if no luck, you may want to dip the print head into Isopropyl Alcohol overnight (can get it from chemist)
-if it still doesn't work, your print head may be clogged to the point where it needs repair or replacement, which will probably cost more than a new printer.
I got a new print head @ "staples" office supplies. It didnt cost me anything!!! Kodak had probs with the head, & gave a bunch to staples.....i changed the head, put in new inks, again...got a calibration to run...& things printed np!!!
Call tech support. I believe your print head is in need of replacement. Usually they will send you out a new on free - in 3-5 days. They are foreigners (tech support) but they are knowledgable and very helpful.
I had the same problem. Try cleaning the print heads. They tend to clog. Remove the cartridges, then remove the print head. Tilted slightly, it comes out easily. Run very warm to hot water over the print heads until they all run clear. Use a turkey baster to apply strong pressure to each head until it runs clear. Blow off the excess water with mouth or blow dryer. Insert into the printer and proceed to print. If that doesn't solve it, you might have a bad cartridge, but there isn't much that can go wrong with the cartridge. I have an ip4200 and an MP830. They have the same print heads and same cartridges. I have cleaned each twice and they work like new.
