Lots of things can cause this. What OS are you using?

When you start your computer (with the monitor turned on) is it on until it hits Windows?

-If so, restart in Safe Mode and under Device Manager - uninstall all monitors, reboot in normal mode and Windows will reinstall what it needs. Remember to not set your resolution/refresh rates to high for the monitor you have.

-If you have the type of video cable that can be flipped around (same connection type on both sides) - remove cable from PC/Monitor and flip and re-seat both ends.

-Try a different power cord on the monitor (assuming you have the type that uses a standard cord).

-If you are using any type of power strip - remove the strip from the equation and plug the power for the monitor directly in a wall outlet.

Here are a couple of suggestions...

-If so, restart in Safe Mode and under Device Manager - uninstall all monitors, reboot in normal mode and Windows will reinstall what it needs. Remeber to not set your resolution/refresh rates to high for the monitor you have.
-If you have the type of video cable that can be flipped around (same connection type on both sides) - remove cable from PC/Monitor and flip and reseat both ends.
-Try a different power cord on the montor (assuming you have the type that uses a standard cord).
-If you are using any type of power strip - remove the strip from the equation and plug the power for the monitor directly in a wall outlet.

If you can try it on another unit , If it still does not work, Then the most likely culprit is a bad power supply. If you know any thing about soldering replace the capacitors they are probably bad but being that these things are being built so cheap. It could also have a bad inverter. not repairable by average dude.If you open it be careful and do not attempt unless you feel comfortable with a solder Iron.Hope this can help you Good Luck. www.IrionsTVshop.com board re builders.

After reading the solutions put on others I regret to inform you they are a wast of time. I have been repairing for years and encountered this problem about 100 times it has always been the monitor. By your description. If you tried it on another monitor no go, What else would you expect. Two computors same results as I said, Its in the monitor. Not for a beginner. I wish I could give you a simple answer that would work for you.But EXPERIENCE tells me.Monitor

My monitor screen is ok for awhile but suddenly turns a dull yellow color. I just bought it a few months ago.

Hi,
you must adjust the display settings in the software program that was being used to change the display setting.
  • If you have a flat panel LCD monitor, unplug the monitor power cable, wait about 30 seconds, reconnect the cable and then turn on the monitor. This resets the electronics on the monitor.
  • Make sure the monitor has power - the light on the monitor is on. If the light on the monitor is off, the monitor does not have power. Connect it to a different power outlet.
  • If the monitor has a detachable video cable, obtain a second monitor cable for testing purposes in case the cable is bad.
  • follw the another steps-
  • Replace the monitor power cable.
    1. Turn on the monitor. If the monitor displays an image, you are done. If the monitor remains blank, continue using these steps.
    2. Replace the video cable. Turn on the monitor. If the monitor displays an image, you are done. If the monitor remains blank, continue using these steps.
    3. If the monitor does not work after replacing the cables, replace or service the monitor
  • Thanks,

Monitor displays breifly then goes to blank screen

If tried the monitor on two other computers with the same result -- definitly your monitor is faulty. Take it to the repair shop. To make double sure, run your computer with another monitor. If everything is fine now; you can blame the monitor.

    Black screen not booting

check both your power and video connections to the monitor, sounds more like a monitor power issue.
if the connections appear ok, but screen still blank, try connecting a known good working monitor from somewhere else and see if it works with your pc, if it does, your original monitor is faulty, if it doesn't, you have a pc video issue.
