Sounds like transit damage.
Play around awhile with such software tools you have.
There will not be a repair option.
Service by replacement is the name of the game

My printer has come up with a service error 5c00. What can i do to fix it?

The 5C00 code is for purge cam sensor error meaning an error occurred in the purge unit. You can remove the purge assembly and clean out all the ink covering the moving parts. You can clean it with isopropyl alcohol or just water. If no luck, replace the purge unit, will be around $30.

My Pixma iP8500 will not print. Error message:

Check the following :
1. Check whether the printer you want to print is set as the default printer, by taking the control panel, then choose Printer and right your printer icon, then select 'SET AS DEFAULT PRINTER'.
2. Reconnect the printer cable to the PC. If that doesn't solve, replace the cable with new one.
