Re: Unable to close Lid
Sounds like the hing on back is broken. Look on the back of the cover, there will be 2 hinges holding the scanner on. Probably a piece of plactic broke and is hanging up one of the hinges.
Possibly a small spring.

1 - Open the top lid
2 - Open the ink cartridge carrier
3 - Shake the ink cartridges
4 - Unpack the ink cartridges
5 - Remove the yellow tape from each cartridge as you get ready to install it, but not before
6 - Install each color cartridge into its corresponding color slot pressing down all the way until it "clicks"
7 - Close the ink cartridge carrier
8 - Close the top lid
At this point the printer should charge its ink cartridges. Let this finish before using your printer.
Hope this helps!
That is normal, the printer "sees" the cartridges by their serial number, so when you pop in a refilled cartridge, the printer thinks you have put in old cartridges and continue to show low ink level. When you pop in a new one, with a new serial code, the ink level will reset, showing that the cartridges are full again. You can try this: 1. Open printer lid so cartridges move to center of carriage.
2. Lift clamp and remove black or color cartridge from the holder.
3. Place cartridge on table with copper contact strip facing you.
4. Carefully place a strip of clear plastic tape over the four contacts on the upper left corner of the cartridge.
5. Reinstall cartridge in printer and close lid. Wait until cartridge returns to parking position.
6. Open lid and remove cartridge again. Remove tape from left side and
place tape over four contacts at upper right corner of cartridge.
7. Reinstall cartridge in printer and close lid. Wait until cartridge returns to parking position again.
8. Open lid again, remove cartridge, remove tape.
9. Reinstall cartridge and close lid.
Printer will now recalibrate. Once the process is complete the ink level meter should be reading full again. Doesn't always work, but you can try. Here are links, so you can see: http://www.misterinkjet.com/hp56reset.htm http://www.misterinkjet.com/hp57reset.htm
Turn on your printer and raise the lid or press the cartridge changing button.
Wait for the cartridge carrier to slide out.
Lift the cartridge holder lid, and the cartridge will pop up for removal.
Carefully remove the tape from the ink opening on the bottom of new cartridge.
Insert the new cartridge into the cartridge carrier. Make sure the new
cartridge is oriented the same way that the old cartridge had been.
Close the cartridge holder lid and press the cleaning button to charge the cartridge.
Close printer cover.
just solved this on my lemark - open the top so cartridges in middle
put cleaning fluid on the 'pads to the right( i userefill kit cleaning fluid)
on the 'far right pad' ( the ones that the cartriges sit on when lid closed - they're about under(ish) the on/off switch - i filled the little pads up until almost overflowed (aout 1ml)
shut lid so cartridges go back onto the pads, leave for 10 mins, then print out 10 pages of something then repeat the clean again - mine took 3 times then works perfect - hope this helps
Make sure the power is on when you open the lid. The cartridges should move into the center so you can get to them. If they don't, close the lid, remove the power supply and reinsert it. Turn the printer back on and try again.
