That is what we are guessing.....can't really see anything broken or loose or disjointed. Is it repairable? Planning on taking it in to Best Buy today to see if it can be fixed...Please let me know if you have any ideas

Thank you....I took it in, it was the 1st time any of the technicians saw this problem...they ended up "breaking" the hinge and then just putting it together charge...I guess that is better than charging me....A spring got loose...oh well, it still works.

Sounds like the hing on back is broken. Look on the back of the cover, there will be 2 hinges holding the scanner on. Probably a piece of plactic broke and is hanging up one of the hinges.
Possibly a small spring.

Sorry I have been out. But yes, That should be a very simple fix.

I have never seen a feeder itself break. Just something to do with the hinging. I would take it. Seems very fixable to me.

Thank you very much for letting me know. Those springs in those hinges aer difficult to see, since they are sealed.

And nice to see they did not charge you.
There are a lot of very honest people in service that realize that customers are in the same " make a living" mode as they are.
    Glad it's resolved for you.

How to change printing cartridges

Here's how to change your cartridges: 1 Make sure the printer is on. 2 Lift the scanner unit. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the printer is busy. printmastert_25.jpg

3 Press down on the cartridge carrier latch to raise the cartridge carrier lid. printmastert_26.jpg

4 Remove the used print cartridge. Note: If you are removing both cartridges, repeat step 3 and step 4 for the second cartridge.

Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:

1. Unplug the printer from the power source.

2. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer.

3. Remove the used cartridges.

4. Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.

5. Plug the printer back to the power source.

I have a Lexmark X125 printer. I just bought new ink cartridges because I ran out of ink. I followed the directions on the printer to install the ink cartridges and the printer keeps flashing the words...

Remove the cartridges and close the lid. Allow the system to try to calibrate and complain. Open the lid. Check the cartridge bottoms to make sure you removed the plastic cover on the jet heads.
Replace the cartridges and make sure they clip. Close the lid to finish.

if this does not solve it. Remove the cartridges and then unplug the unit from the power. hold the power button down for 10 seconds then give 20 seconds more. this will clear all power. Place the new cartridges in and close the lid. power the unit on and test for success

Printer (HP5650) has full ink cartridges.window sez almost empty

That is normal, the printer "sees" the cartridges by their serial number, so when you pop in a refilled cartridge, the printer thinks you have put in old cartridges and continue to show low ink level. When you pop in a new one, with a new serial code, the ink level will reset, showing that the cartridges are full again.
You can try this:
1. Open printer lid so cartridges move to center of carriage.
2. Lift clamp and remove black or color cartridge from the holder.
3. Place cartridge on table with copper contact strip facing you.
4. Carefully place a strip of clear plastic tape over the four contacts on the upper left corner of the cartridge.
5. Reinstall cartridge in printer and close lid. Wait until cartridge returns to parking position.
6. Open lid and remove cartridge again. Remove tape from left side and place tape over four contacts at upper right corner of cartridge.
7. Reinstall cartridge in printer and close lid. Wait until cartridge returns to parking position again.
8. Open lid again, remove cartridge, remove tape.
9. Reinstall cartridge and close lid.
Printer will now recalibrate. Once the process is complete the ink level meter should be reading full again.
Doesn't always work, but you can try.

Changing ink cartridge

Turn on your printer and raise the lid or press the cartridge changing button. Wait for the cartridge carrier to slide out.
Lift the cartridge holder lid, and the cartridge will pop up for removal.
Carefully remove the tape from the ink opening on the bottom of new cartridge.
Insert the new cartridge into the cartridge carrier. Make sure the new cartridge is oriented the same way that the old cartridge had been.

Close the cartridge holder lid and press the cleaning button to charge the cartridge.
Close printer cover.

I have a Sentry Safe H4300. I put a few important papers in it, but am unable to open it again to put more papers in it. Please Help! Thank you. Ruth Jackson

I have a H4300 Safe. To open the safe...

1) Unlock it with the tubular key
2) With one hand, push down on the lid (moderate pressure should do & preferably close to the latch area).
3) While still pushing down with one hand, use the other hand to squeeze the red latch button and lift up.

You can't open the lid by just squeezing the red latch button and trying to lift up. It won't. You need to push down, then unlatch, then lift.

Works everytime for me,...hope this helps.

Ink Cartridge

Make sure the power is on when you open the lid. The cartridges should move into the center so you can get to them. If they don't, close the lid, remove the power supply and reinsert it. Turn the printer back on and try again.
