Looking at the back of the motor where the belt pulley is you would grasp belt coming down from the left side of drum then come across the top of belt pulley that is on motor shaft going clockwise around that pulley then continue back to your left and over the top of belt tension pulley going counterclockwise around that pulley this is when you will have to raise pulley against spring pressure to get belt on then release belt tension pulley make sure that belt is still in belt groove on the drum hope this helps ed

Matag dryer lde412 not heating elec

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

In my Maytag dryer model SDE305DAYW the heating element works; however, the tumble drum stopped moving. What's wrong?

This sounds like the drum's drive belt broke. But also ensure there isn't a problem with the drive motor. Do you still hear a motor running when you turn it on? If so, you'll need to replace the drive belt.

I hope this helps! :)

I have a Maytag Model pyet224ayw electric dryer, The belt broke and I replaced it. Now when I put the new belt on, every time that I turn it on the belt jumps off the tention pully. Can the problem be that...

http://www.applianceaid.com/maytag-dryers.html
this site has proper belt routing pictures for several brands maytag included might be helpful the only other thing i can think of the idler may be worn out or bent or drum may be tight not turning properly should turn freely with belt loose from inside dryer
should be able to push vanes and rotate drum easily
good luck ron

Rumbling noise when dryer first starts up. I can rotate the drum by hand and the noise is the same. Have also rotated by pulling on the drum belt and the noise is the same as well. Dryer Maytag Model...

Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication
If you have a front loading machine,

Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer.
Be REAL CAREFUL not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt. Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm pulley and motor.
Now is a good time to check the belt condition for wear.
Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt.
Check your rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them replace them.
If they don't then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.
I will include these two websites for parts and further help:

Good Luck,
I hope this helps

Try this link. I am assuming your model number is MED6300TQ though it is not mentioned in your text (but it's on the image on the side).

Are you sure that is the model number? I can`t find that model number anywhere. Please check the tag on the machine. This tag should also have the serial number on it.

I believe the belt on my maytag electric dryer model LDE412 is going out. How to I get to the belt to remove it for replacement? Through the front of the dryer or the back?

Remove the front panel(s). and you will be able to remove the top panel, which will give you access to the top of the drum and be able to replace the belt. There should be a small pulley at the bottom of the dryer where the belt attaches to, as well as around the entire drum.

Maytag Electric Dryer - replace belt

The belt needs to be above the metal. Otherwise the repair looks good. Easy fix. Thanks for the pic.
