Question about Sony RDR-GX300 DVD Recorder
I use 8X DVD-R Taiyo Yuden discs exclusively. Occaisionally I would get a Disc Error message, and I would reboot the machine by unplugging it for a few seconds - and it would return to regular/routine/normal use.
Now, I cannot get the machine to take one of these blank discs at all without getting a "load....load....load....& eventually a Disc Error message.
I know it is not the discs - these are primo discs in a perfect environment. So is it a dirty laser reader, or is it a software issue - as brought up on this site?
Help - I have loved using this recorder, and don't want to change.
It may be a simple case of smudge, dirty, dusty laser lens. A bit of cleaning might only be needed. Pls try:
1. a can of compressed air to force out any out or foreign materials;
2. use a CD cleaner readily available from most computer stores/shops.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
