Flat screen monitor almost works

I have Dell Dimension 2350 with Microsoft Windows XP 2002 and I tried hooking up the LT765 flatsceen monitor with partial success. The Dell image shows up at the beginning of the start up, followed by Microsofts opening page, then it fades to white. I have tried a driver, but to no avail.

Any suggestions?

The problem seems more about connector pin pattern discrepencies. Do you know of any adapter plug-ins.

Where did you get the driver from?

See if Microsoft has a driver at http://update.microsoft.com. Click "Custom" and then look under "Hardware, Optional"

For Windows Update to detect your monitor, plug in a good monitor all the way up until you click on "Custom." Then plug in the Innovision and click "Custom" (even though you won't be able to see it). Wait. Then plug in the good monitor again to see if Windows Update found a good driver for you.

And to rule out a hardware problem, have you tried connecting the monitor to another computer to see if the same thing happens?

Aha! That's something to go on.

Can you post a picture of the pins on your monitor cable, and the video port on your computer? I can tell you what adapter you'd need.

Do the pins on your video cable match any of these patterns?

You might be trying to plug a DVI-A cable into a DVI-D port?

Check for the specifications of your PC's video card with the screen.
problem maybe at something else rather than the monitor.
try booting it on SAFE MODE.

It's a dell monitor e2010h and it starts up then runs post op then it goes into a black screen and a cursor

That is the computer problem, try booting in safe mode to see it works OK, if it does, you can try uisng system restore to take it back the known working date before the problem start.

Hit F8 key while booting up if you use XP.

Installed windows 7 on a dell sx260 with gem 17 lcd cant get display drivers to work?screen all dis colored

Try going to the Dell or Microsoft Websites and loading a new display driver for Windows 7. When I first got Windows 7, both my monitor and printers required new drivers for Windows 7. It seems that Vista and XP drivers for a lot of things don't work on Win 7.

Good Luck

Dell SE198WFP 19" LCD won't come out of standby

I went into the BIOS (with F2 during restart) and changed a value -- IIRC it was called something like "power management scheme" -- from the default S3 to the other choice, S1. Now the old Dell XP Dimension 2350 will go into and out of Standby correctly and the new SE198WFP 19" LCD will too.

Blank screen

Hi,
Disconnect the monitor , from the computer, switch the monitor on , if you have some kind of Dell self test box running on the screen. The monitor is OK . The problem can be with the video card or resolution settings.

Also, try connectin the old monitor you had hooked up with the system to check ,if you see anything

Thanks

Can't change monitor display settings

no drivers are needed for monitor. Its the video card drivers that you should look for at the dell drivers and downloads website. make sure that you have the right driver installed so that you may be increase your screen resolution. You may also use your Dell Resource CD Drivers and utilities. Install the Resource cd, On the TOPICS dropdown box, select drivers,You'll know which drivers needs to be installed because they will have a check mark infront of the correct device driver. Clicke extract button after you have chosen the video driver. You may need to scroll down.Restart the computer.
