I had this, had to call service engineer who re-fitted a loose circuit board inside printer. Not sure which one because I was not here at the time. If you are confident enough, and want to look for this yourself and push in all boards - be sure to disconnect from electricity supply first.

How do you fix the colour printing grey instead of black

Do you need to change out your black color cartridge? Check your ink levels to make sure that you have plenty of each color. Also, check the settings for your printer (perhaps under "properties") and make sure that you haven't clicked on "grey scale". I hope that this helps.

I have a Xerox Phaser 6360 that one day just stopped printing yellow, despite having plenty of ink. Xerox told me I needed a new imaging unit, so I replaced it, but it didn't help. I put the old one back...

Your machine uses solid ink wax blocks. So no calibration is necessary. Does the self test print look good. I suspected not.
Check out the Xerox.com website. It could be a problem as you machine is no longer sold.
Sorry.

Not printing cyan on xerox 6360

INK PROBLEM
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

Printer is printing the black color as light grey. Toner is already exchanged.

When you print something from a website and the print box comes up, click on preferences tab, and when it comes up click on color . Then click on print in grayscale and change the setting from High Quality to Black ink only, click apply at the bottom, then OK. It should print in black ink.

The black print jobs have a shadow about 3 inches down the page

I had replaced the fuser - no improvement. I removed the fuser, imaging unit & transfer roller. CAREFULLY using a vacuum cleaner I cleaned all units and the internals of the printer, rotating the roller on the imaging unit to clean all parts. (Warning Place Imaging unit on paper as toner escapes) After a few test prints the page cleared and duplicate ghosting cleared.

Are LD products safe to use?

Safe , most likely, recommended? I don't recommend using generic supplies in anything but ink ket printers. By that I mean the liquid inks. The toner is a phaser is pretty unique, and the OEM toner is by far the best way to go.

Xerox Phaser 6360 Black Toner prints Light Grey

I have had to repair a few of these. Take off the sides and back of the 6360. You'll see the hoses that feed into the laser. The black one becomes unplugged from the laser. All you have to do is plug it back in. The next step can be kinda messy. Take out the black toner cartridge, and spin the motor backwards. You'll know you're going the right way because it won't turn the other way. Cycle the gear where the toner sits for about 2 revolutions. Reassemble and you should be good to go!

This thing took me 6 days to figure out the first time. Haha!

Please vote on my solution! Thanks!

Prints grey not black

I solved this problem but probably not what the printer manufacturer would recommend! The reason you are just getting grey is that the black ink cartridge is either empty or dried out from non use and only the color cartridge is working. I had the same problem after being away for 5 months. I put the printer cartridge in a bowl of warm water to disolve the dried out ink on the print pad. I dried off the cartridge with a soft cloth and then it worked perfectly.
