You are correct, the number lock is on, use the blue "FN" key and in blue under the "ins" key you should see "Num LK" push the two together and presto, normal keyboard

My Toshiba Satellite P755-s5320 letters and number will not work. Even the number pad on the right side won't work, and yes the num lock is on. I'm thinking my cat may have pushed a button or...

Yes you are correct the print box is displayed when Ctrl + P are pressed. When the Ctrl button is held down one will not be able to type numbers at all.

I think your Ctrl button is stuck, try pressing it repeatedly to unstick it.

Worst case you will need a new keyboard.

Take care!

Where is num lock key on Dell 5030

If there is no NumLock key then pressing the Fn (Function) buttonshould enable the number pad on the keys that have the Blue numbers onthem. On most laptops (dont know your model) there is a numlock key asthis allows the user to type numbers with two hands and not keep oneholding the Fn button. You would normally press the Fn button and theNumLock option to switch it on and every time you pressed the keys withthe numbers on it would use the number not the letter, pressing the Fnkey with NumLock on would normally allow the letter to be used withouthaveing to disable the NumLock.
This assumes of course that the normal letters are stamped with thenumbers on, if not it is most unusual, I don't think I hav eseen alaptop keyboard without numbers or the NumLock / Fn options. There areUSB number pads available that you can buy, these simply plug in to anavailable USB port and it is like an extension of your keyboard.

My laptop, a Satellite #L455, is giving me numbers when I type in letters. This does not occur all the time but often when I'm playing games.

the letter that does is U,I,O,PJ,K,L,M it happens all you need to do to fix that problem is press the Fn buttin and while keeping this down it should be the F11 button make sure you look at the other F button as it will show you a little box with load of dots inside it if it is the F11 button then pressing this once will turn it back to letters this function is for when your doing calculations its easier to use it but some people dont like it you can turn it on and or off by pressing the Fn button and pressing the F11 button

if the U, I, O, J, K, L, M buttons are also displaying numbers when you type, then your number lock is turned on, use the FN-key + Numlock to turnit off, or just the numlock key alone should fix the issue

A few days ago when I was on the the laptop anytime I pressed the letters mjkluio , numbers would appear instead. I tried to press the num lock button and it made no difference. Nothing would fix it so I...

The Function keys up top will not do anything when not in a program that has them set.

The num lock key on most laptops does not itself work: it must be pressed in conjunction with another key. This is normally the "FN" key at the lower left.

Please try pressing the "FN" key while you press the "num lock" key and see if this now works.

Need instructions for keyboard toshiba satellite laptop , need to know what keys to push when using the numbers in the keyboard that are also letters

No need for the instruction manual. When your going to use the numbers that are inside of the letters, hold down the the FN key and then push the number that you want to be displayed. For example holding down the FN key and then pressing the L key produces the number 3 for me. Try your keys out and see what you get.

Number an letter combo won't change back to letter

Sounds like you have number lock on. To turn this off you'll need to hold the function (Fn) button and press number lock. I'm not sure which is the numlock button on your model but it looks like on other models it's F11. Make sure you hold the Fn button down until you've pressed Numlock though or it won't work.

The Number key in my laptop overlap over the letter key.

try pressing the FN key at the same time as the number key.

The FN is a modifier key and when pushed the same time as another key, it changes what the button does usually. Many of these alternate functions can be found on the F buttons along the top of the keyboard.
