40 pixels or white dots constant on screen

Mitsubishi WD-65733 65 in. HDTV Television. White dots have started to appear across the left side of the screen and stay constantly. A few at first and now a month later about 40 dots about 1/20 of a inch in size. It looks like stars against a night sky. I didn't know DLP TVs had this ''pixel'' like issue. What is the issue or solution?

SOURCE: getting white spots on my

Hi,all HDTV have boards that control vertical and horizontal output to their respective areas. They are connected to the screen by ribbon cables. If one of these boards fails all together, has a failed chip, a bad connection, or a bad ground somewhere it will result in a black line in the area of that board and also white spots.

A bad ribbon cable connection on the bottom will result in a vertical black bar though the screen. Many times resetting the connection will fix it, if the ribbon cable has been nicked there could be a severed connection. They an sometimes be fixed, but it is a pain. An yes I have done it, but the bar is gone. The same will happen if the chip that outputs to that area opens.

The connectors are the first place to look paying close attention to the cable, they are extremely delicate so great care must be taken if you decide to tinker with em, the usually have lift locks that release them.

Good luck.

Repair dead pixels?

Dead pixels can not be repaired.
The model# WD-52525 you provided is for a DLP TV.
If you are seeing white dots on the screen it is due to a bad DMD chip or light engine. Unfortunately, it is not a cheap fix.

Good luck

White dots on the right side of the screen

these are called dead pixels if your television is under warranty you should replace it with new one cause dead pixels generated new ones until it will fill up your screen completely.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525. In general the picture is great from all sources (cable, component, and hdmi). However, there occasionally are very thin, horizontal lines that flicker across the screen....

I have seen this problem before. It is usually caused by a malfunctioning color wheel. Replacing it should resolve the problem. Let me know if you wish to fix it yourself so that I can find you a replacement.

I have a Mitsubishi WD Y-657 that started out with a single white dot. Now there are over 50. This all happend in a week. I believe they are dead pixels. ?? What to do?

Dead pixels are a problem with LCD screens. You have a DLP set, so this is not possible. I unfortunately don't know anything else about this problem.

White vertical lines across the screen. Why and what can be done? Thw white lines appear and stay all the way across the screen. They are about 1.5" inbetween each vertical line,

You have a failure in the vertical circuit. Service can run between $75 to $150 depending on your area.(In home repair will cost more) If set is older then 3 years and under 27" recommend replacing it.

Little white dots on the screen

dirty lens, dirty mirrors, warped light guides, spider webs and mini-UFOs that fly across the inside can cause what you described.

but 6 months is pretty early for a cleaning but possible.
