Generic problem for all Receivers

I have a sansui AU 3900 it has been in my closet for lets just say untold years because I took it to several sound stores and was told they didn't have the schematics for it and I was probably out of luck.
The problem I am having is when I turn the power on within a few seconds the amp shuts it self down.

your help is much appreacated this is much better than some one telling me that I had no better option than to thow it away and bye one of their new ones,(I am kind of attached to this one after 30 some odd years).

The shutdown would be from a voltage supply in the power amp seeing too heavy a load and "shutting down" so that the amp doesnt Fry
