How do I clear the fax memory of the MFC 7860DW

Hello there, you can try the following: 1. On the Touchscreen press the MENU.
2. Press FAX.
3. Press SETUP RECEIVE.
4. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW to choose MEMORY RECEIVE.
5. Press FAX STORAGE.

Then if you want to clear fax memory find clear or reset memory if you are not able to see it then turn the fax storage off then restart the printer then check.
Then again turn on the fax storage if you want to store fax in memory.

Thank you.

Not receiving any incoming faxes

Is the phone line working? Do you have any devices connected to the phone line that pick up before the fax machine? Make sure the machine has paper and is set to FAX or AUTO. Is there a Memory Full error? Clear the memory (Setup > Memory Clear then press Start/Enter. Use the left and right arrows to select the items to remove. Press Start/Enter twice (second time to confirm the choice). Repeat until all memory is cleared that you wish to clear. Then press Stop to exit.)

If you are using the ANS/FAX mode and have an answering machine connected to the extension port, disconnect the anwering machine and switch to FAX or AUTO. Check if the machine receives faxes. Sometimes the extra device causes interference. Call the fax machine from a different phone number and see if you hear the fax tones.

Check that the Junk Fax barrier is off, if the incoming call is from a machine that is not listed in your speed dial database. If you have a distinctive ring, make sure that the Fax machine has learned the ring by pressing Setup go to DRPD. Choose Set and call the fax machine from another phone. The LCD will say Waiting Ring until it gets that call and then once the ring is learned will say END DRPD Setup

I hope these ideas help.

(If you have a phone company voice mail service, the faxes may end up stuck in that box. It depends on how many rings the fax is set to wait before picking up versus when the voice mail opens to take the call.)

FAX MACHINE WILL NOT WORK WITH MAGIC JACK

Magic Jack will work with fax machines. You may have to experiment by slowing down the fax machines modem transmits speed. This is done in the machines menu.

The Magic Jack manual is quite clear, it can handle faxing.

If you clear the memory, any faxes stored will be also be erased. This solution assumes that you have the fax storage option "On" to store faxes in memory.

On the control panel:

1) Press <Menu>

2) Use <Up> or <Down> arrow keys until "Fax" appears on the display, press <OK>

3) Use <Up> or <Down> until "Remote Fax Option" or "Advanced Fax Operation" appears, press <OK>

4) Use <Up> or <Down> until "Off" appears, then press <OK>

5) You will be prompted: "Erase all fax?" 1. Yes 2. No

Press <1> to erase all faxes in memory.

6) Press <Stop/Exit> to return to normal function

OUR FAX SAYS 98% MEMORY FULL SOMETIMES WHEN THEY TRY TO FAX SOMETHING. HOW DO I CLEAR THE MEMORY? NATALIE

Press Menu, 2, 5, 2. The screen prompts you to choose a fax setting. Press <-- or --> to select OFF then press SET. If there are faxes in memory when you turn Fax Storage to OFF, the LCD prompts you to erase faxes in memory. If you press 1, all fax data is erased and Fax Storage is turned OFF.

You may want to enable Real Time TX so you can send fax without using memory. (Under FAX-SETUP SEND-REAL TIME TX)

You may also disable Fax Storage if you don't want to store incoming faxes in memory for remote retrieval (Under FAX- REMOTE FAX OPT-FAX STORAGE)

For effective use of the memory, you may also clear the caller IDs stored in the memory. Press MENU, 2, 0, 2 Press the arrow keys to display # then press CLEAR.

Hope this helps!
