third party toners will usually give this type of error- remove the cartridge and replace with HP OEM Toner Cartridge- if the problem is gone the cartridge is at fault. if the problem is still visible you may need to order a maintenance kit to replace the transfer roller. If after you have changed the transfer roller the problem remains then the issue lies with the contact of transfer roller to drum surface is uneven. tyhe transfer holder plates have snapped or the HVT PCB has failed which will require an On site visit by a Qualified technician. All above can be completed By Belmonte Business Equipment

The tray two pickup roller is a roller in the front of the tray. Remove tray 2 and place it on a level work surface. Locate and open the cover that is next to the roller in tray 2.
Pinch the blue latch that is on the left side of the roller. Slide the roller off of the shaft.
Then you can slide the new roller back in.
CAUTION When you install this roller, make sure that it locks into place. Verify that the roller is correctly oriented, and that the round, black spacer next to the roller is correctly positioned against the locking pin on the shaft.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe
If your not mechanically incline don't bother to replace. To replace the fuser unit remove transfer belt, back cover, left side cover, two fuser connectors(left side) sensor connector on back. Then remove two screws on top which hold the fuser in place. Then remove fuser very carefully.
HI there have you tried the toner cartridge as this could also cause this problem? Also change the transfer roller and are the bands going from left to right or from up to down. If the bands are left to right change both if up to down more likely to be the toner cartridge.
We have a Xerox 6120 which is mechanically identical to the 2430. It was reporting media jams. We determined after removal and careful inspection that the fuser roller and fuser pressure roller had been damaged by what looked like someone attempting to clear a jam with a sharp object. I cannot speak re: the 2430, but the fuser in the 6120 is not a FRU. The construction of the fuser doesn't tolerate any flaws on either surface. There was more paper jammed in the fuser where we couldn't see it until we had the fuser out of the printer. We are shopping for a new printer as the repairs will cost more than we paid for the printer.
