My windows vista is charging my mp3 , whenever i connect it the computer says that its installing device driver software , and then its gives me a little note saying that the mtp software is installed but when i open my computer the device does not show up and my windows media player cant detect it. i am really looking forward to downloading music on my mp3 i just cant do it because i cant seem to see it.

The driver is NOT digitally signed so in actual fact they indeed are NOT being installed. You will have to turn of the check digital signature by pressing F8 at Bootup and selecting it. Then you can install it. Install as Administrator, Set the install .exe & run .exe, to Compatability Mode for XP SP 2. You WILL have to press F8 each and every time you boot otherwise Vista will "Block" the driver from loading. There is NO real workaround.

If the issue is still not resolved, go to the next step. 2. Restart the Zune device.
To do this, follow these steps: a. Set the Hold switch to the unlocked position. b. Press and hold the Back button as you press the top of the Zune pad. When the Zune device begins to restart, release the buttons.

You have to install the software for the mp3 player BEFORE connecting the mp3 player to the computer, or else Windows XP will override the native drivers. That particular Nextar is not compatible with Windows Vista, so you may have a problem if you have a newer computer.

Your computer has to recognize MTP. If you plug it into a Windows Vista computer, it will recognize your device. There are steps you can perform for a Windows XP computer to recognize the device without software. Do a search for MTP and Windows XP for those directions. It starts with Adding New Hardware etc...
