I have a new windows 7 computer and a hp officejet j5780 all in one printer I can fax but not print... please help

Sound like you need Windows 7 drivers for your printer. Go HERE. Select the type win7 you have (make sure you see your printer in the top right corner). that should get you going.

Your fax is independent of the computer and needs no driver.

If you have the HP Officejet j5780, you can download the full software and drivers that work with Win7. Go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3301296& and select your OS version (32- or 64-bit).

Unplug the data cable and uninstall any generic driver if you plugged the printer into the computer (USB) before installing the latest software.

HP Officejet J5780: Cannot scan, copy, or fax from my computer.

Kindly install the scanner software for printer the driver software cd just re install it will install the scanner software and make sure in device manger there is not other usb device listed if it is there just remove it. And refresh it in will automatically install the driver.

follow the steps below to resolve
goto http://www.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpsupport/index.pl
select country (select US you can the follow the steps below
exactly as given to reach the resolution)
select See support and troubleshooting information
enter your product name (in your case HP Officejet J5780) and click on >>
then select Solve a problem
select Printing
select Slow or no response from printer
select Print Jobs are Stuck in the Print Queue and Will Not Print with a USB Connected Printer in Windows Vista on this page you will find also the link for XP solution. Delete the printer from control panel and uninstall the software.

Go to www.hp.com and let the website auto-detect your printer and download the drivers automatically.

MY HP OFFICEJET J5780 is printing backwards

Open up any document.

Select File>Print

When the Print window opens, click on Preferences.

Click on the Advanced tab.

Look for a Mirror Image menu item.

If it says ON click on it and change the choice to OFF.

Click OK.

Click Print.

Hp Officejet J5780 All-in-One

On the Officejet`s control panel, Press Setup, then press 2, now press 3.
The panel will display the choice of Off, Print confirmation on Send, Print confirmation on recieve or Print on Send and Recieve. Select your choice.
