After I removed a paper jam, it seems my computer has lost my printer. Now the (IN Use/Memory) keeps flashing. It will only print a blank sheet of paper, because the computer can't find it. It is a CanonMP530

It appears I lost you in Live Chat, at any rate based on the information you have provided, I can only determine there was a hardware malfunction, possibly caused by the jame and the unit most likely needs to be serviced, sorry I could not be of more help.

Thanks

Paper jam

open all door in your printer , front and back. , look for paper stuck inside and remove it. Sometimes small pieces of paper are difficult to be found.
If it is a Laser printer, you will also need to remove the toner and paper try and look for jammed papert underneat.
Once you done, restart the machine.
If you still have paper jam error try unplugging printer from power outlet for 5 minutes then restart.
If you still get error, then either there is paper inside or your printer may be faulty.

Brothe MFC-240C paper jam error msg won't clear

**, it is not fixed. I followed instructions on Brother web site and was able to find a piece of paper near the printhead, so I removed it. The printer makes a grinding sound when it tries to print and the same paper jam error returns and can't be cleared. I beleive that the printer repair cost will be more expensive than replacing it with a different printer, and it won't be Brother brand. I probably would not be able or have the tools to do any complicated repair job.

HP 4215xi all in one, continues to give the error paper jam, there is no paper jam. I have cleaned all sensors, rollers etc. I have tried a partial and full reset. Any ideas?

Hi,
  1. Turn off the HP product and turn it around so the back of the unit faces you.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the all-in-one. The power cord must be disconnected to allow the paper feed rollers to turn freely.
  3. Locate and open the rear access door by pressing in on the left side tab and then pulling the door toward you. Figure 2: Removing the rear access door

Inspect the pressure rollers on the rear access door and verify that they are clean and turn freely. Clean the rollers if needed with a soft towel lightly moistened with water. If the rollers do not turn freely, replace the rear access door. Click How to Buy on this page to order replacement parts.
  1. From the rear access door opening, remove the jammed paper.
  2. Remove the remaining paper from the paper supply tray. Discard any paper that is damaged or crumpled and then re-stack and reload the paper into the paper supply tray.
  3. Reinstall the rear access door.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the unit and turn the unit on.

The following information will help prevent paper jams from occurring:
  • Never use paper that is torn or wrinkled.
  • If you are having problems using paper that has already been printed on once (recycling), replace it with new paper.
  • Remove and then reinstall the rear access door. Verify that the access door is fully locked in place. The paper can skew if the rear access door is not locked.
  • Every six months to one year, clean the paper feed rollers with a rag lightly moistened with water. Over time the paper feed rollers accumulate dust and do not function as well as they once did.
  • When printing envelopes, tuck the flap into the envelope and crease the folds before printing.
Goodluck..

I have an HP Photosmart 8050 printer that gives me a paper jam message after each print job

Hi,
i,d suggest that the paper sensor is faulty.
try unplugging your printer, and setting it back up.
alternatively, hold down the paper-jam button if it,s flashing.

Canon

You prob have a few small pieces of photo paper jammed in the printer somewhere. Try to take something small that you can push through the printer to make sure there is nothing hidden jamming the printer.

Have you checked your paper that is fed on the bay...maybe there's a foreign material that is present inside because most of the printers nowadays are very sensitive especially on dust that triggers to false positive detection to your computer.

If it does, try clean the bay.ok?
