Most DVDRs have a small hole at front. You can try inserting a pin into the hole , repeatedly pressing the eject button.. Hope this helps. Good luck!

First, make sure the DVD Recorder is completely disconnected from the main power supply.

Turn it over and look at the base of the unit, (just underneath the front of the Disc Insert/Eject Tray). There is a small slot (approx 25mm x 8mm) in which you can see a small, white plastic lever, probably situated near the right-hand side of the slot.

Moved this white lever gently to the left, and the tray should open by itself.

Remove the disc, and the recorder will no longer be blocked.

On this unit the manual "emergency eject" hole is not on the front; it is underneath as I described. Have you been able to access the white lever?

I'm hoping you have recovered your disc by now. If you found a solution that worked, please rate it. Thanks!

If you cannot get the disk to eject, power the device off and insert a paper-clip into the emergency-eject hole in the front of the device. It should be located just under the disk tray.

Good luck!

How do i rewrite over a disc that is full

If you are using a DVD-RW or DVD+RW, you can format the disc by performing "Format". You can format DVD-RW for either video mode recording or VR mode recording. DVD+RW can be format in order to erase all content of the disc.
You may not be able to reformat a disc that is not previously formatted by your recorder an example would be a. DVD disc formatted by PC or another recorder.
Follow these steps to re-write:
Insert a recordable disc.
1 Press [SETUP].
2 Select "DVD Menu",
then press [ENTER].
3 Then select "Format", and
press [ENTER].
4 select "Start", then
press [ENTER].
5 Confirm by selecting "Yes", then press
[ENTER].
Formatting will start.
6 Formatting is completed.
When the disc is ready for you to rewrite to "100%" is indicated.
Formatting 100%

Record a tv show while watching another show

You need to get either:
  1. DVD-RW [Rewritable]
  2. DVD+RW [Rewriteable]
Brands are Maxwell, Verbatim, Sony JVC, Staples etc

Hope this helps

sometimes this happens. now. the dvd you put in was it rewritable. a friend could not run his dvd recorder until i gave him a dvd+r rw disc in and lo, it worked.
some dvds have this function without telling you, perhaps it is in the instructions in small print.
also, try a straight dvd+r disc, not a rewrite. experiment with other discs because some will not see cheap discs but expensive ones.
i have dvd that does not even reconise a dvd, but when i wish to burn a dvd, i use that one because it is the best.
strange isnt it...

Recording problem

I have had two of these recorders, Using only Sony + discs or rewriteables is my solution, I will not use any thing else. It may work 1-3 times on others brands then start throwing coasters.
As to renaming, on my model I pull up the tiltle menu then select Try using rewriteables for the other problem as well My model is a little older and lets me take disc out without finalizing then when inserting select title, hit edit on remote and select rename. Maybe if you can skip the finalizing (as with rewritables it will help

Dvd wont reconize dvd +

Have you tried the rewriteables, they don't require to be finalized at all. ILO's are real picky, I returned two to Walmart before discovering to use ONLY SONY + or the rewriteables(brand doesn't seem to matter on the rewritables, don't know why.

sounds like the video codec got scrambled. if you are running windows, then try using restore [start-programs-accessories-system tools-restore]. if you never turned restore feature on, then re-install the DVD software
