Question about ACP Cavalry (CAUE37500) 500 GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive

1 Answer

HDD won't work anymore.

I have a Cavalry 500GB HDD. Usually, the light is purple when I turn it on and I have no problem getting it to work on my laptop. Now, though, the light is red when I turn it on. I can't get it to work on any computer, and I've tried about five different ones.

You may instead wish to purchase a new hdd enclosure which can be bought online from many websites such as or

My external 500GB Cavalry drive has a blinking red and blue light when it is turned on. Is there any way to reset it and get the information off the drive.

There is nothing to reset in it, it either works or it doesn't. All you can try is to take the hard disk from the case and put it in a desktop - maybe it still has enough life left in it to be accessible enough in there to allow you the chance to get your data out.

A typical sound from a disk-drive that has malfunctioned.

If it still has a valid WARRANTY, exercise the warranty to get it repaired/replaced.

If the warranty has expired, then open the case, remove the disk-drive, buy a new "compatible" disk-drive, connect it, and thus "revive" your external storage device.

Maybe when it dropped it shattered a bit of the circuit board....
Or a wire came loose, maybe the Ex HDD pin has broke. Unsure.
Do you at all hear any clicking? That you may not of heard before?
