Same Problem

Mar 23, 2008

-   My Sansa e250 was working perfectly, I turned it off, and tried to turn it again but it won't turn on. I tried plugging it into the charger and it won't charge.-   Zaq Z

-   Well, since my last posting...I have figured out that my solution was very temporary. I was able to get my Sansa working for exactly 2 (yes two!) start-ups and shutdowns, then back to the same problem. I have done the same procedure 4 times...each time with the same result. (I believe that the term for this is "insane"). I purchased mine as a REFURB from Buy.com. Actually, I bought one for each of my two kids. One works fine, the other is a waste of time. How many hours can I waste looking to fix a $30 piece of junk. By the way, switching out batteries didn't work.-   imhorto

Hey if u r mp3 player doesn't go on,then press the power botton for 20-30 sec. and if that doesn't also works then connect it on u r computer and press it for 30 sec. I had that problem many times and it works.

I found the solution to our problem!! and it is very easy. Take the 4 screws off the back. Remove the battery. Press the on/off switch and all the others on the front. Replace the battery and the screws.

Mine needed to be plugged in again, but the computer could read the Sansa and I can see the screen again. Now it is charging and I think that the problem is fixed.

Good luck!

- Well, my thought was, clear out any "stuck" electricity. In the past I have taken batteries out of electronic items that were not responding correctly, pressed the on/off switch and presto...problem solved. The first time I tried this on the Sansa it seemed to work, but as earlier posted, this was just a temporary solution. Maybe reinstall Sansa software and then redo this procedure? More time wasted...
