Well, since my last posting...I have figured out that my solution was very temporary. I was able to get my Sansa working for exactly 2 (yes two!) start-ups and shutdowns, then back to the same problem. I have done the same procedure 4 times...each time with the same result. (I believe that the term for this is "insane"). I purchased mine as a REFURB from Buy.com. Actually, I bought one for each of my two kids. One works fine, the other is a waste of time. How many hours can I waste looking to fix a $30 piece of junk. By the way, switching out batteries didn't work.

My Sansa e250 was working perfectly, I turned it off, and tried to turn it again but it won't turn on. I tried plugging it into the charger and it won't charge.

I found the solution to our problem!! and it is very easy. Take the 4 screws off the back. Remove the battery. Press the on/off switch and all the others on the front. Replace the battery and the screws.

Mine needed to be plugged in again, but the computer could read the Sansa and I can see the screen again. Now it is charging and I think that the problem is fixed.

Good luck!

Well, my thought was, clear out any "stuck" electricity. In the past I have taken batteries out of electronic items that were not responding correctly, pressed the on/off switch and presto...problem solved. The first time I tried this on the Sansa it seemed to work, but as earlier posted, this was just a temporary solution. Maybe reinstall Sansa software and then redo this procedure? More time wasted...

Battery and Black screen Blue ring: Remove the back and check and see if the battery isn't fully connected
push softly but firmly on the Rubber rectangle above the battery (This is the Chip-set For the screen, and memory "Black screen Blue ring" ) and put the back on.

My m3 player froze while charging and now it wont turn on

I held it in the off position while at the same time pressing the menu button....it shut off, then I restarted it. It will repair the media itself.

Blank screen

make sure the battery is fully charged, then disconnect from your computer. Wait a while for the device to cool and try turning it on again. Mine took a few tries but once it sat for a while it didnt fight me again.

Sansa e250

Get the recovery tool from Sandisk Support downloads. Put it in a file you can easily find.
plug in the Sansa, once it turns on, hold the power button until it turns off then switch the hold switch at the top edge of the player to hold (showing orange) and then hold the "Record" button on the side until the player turns on with a black screen, saying it is in recovery mode.
Some people have said they had to hold both "Power" and "Record" to make it work.
Run the recovery tool software and you should be running again.

The Screen Stays black and the ring turns blue and thats it

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.

Mp3 player wont play songs or anything

Only 2 suggestions here: 1) Make sure your HOLD switch is not enabled. 2) Try to update the firmware If neither of these work, time to send the unit back to Sandisk
