Hey if u r mp3 player doesn't go on,then press the power botton for 20-30 sec. and if that doesn't also works then connect it on u r computer and press it for 30 sec. I had that problem many times and it works.
I found the solution to our problem!! and it is very easy. Take the 4 screws off the back. Remove the battery. Press the on/off switch and all the others on the front. Replace the battery and the screws.
Mine needed to be plugged in again, but the computer could read the Sansa and I can see the screen again. Now it is charging and I think that the problem is fixed.

Battery and Black screen Blue ring: Remove the back and check and see if the battery isn't fully connected push softly but firmly on the Rubber rectangle above the battery (This is the Chip-set For the screen, and memory "Black screen Blue ring" ) and put the back on.
make sure the battery is fully charged, then disconnect from your computer. Wait a while for the device to cool and try turning it on again. Mine took a few tries but once it sat for a while it didnt fight me again.
Get the recovery tool from Sandisk Support downloads. Put it in a file you can easily find. plug in the Sansa,
once it turns on, hold the power button until it turns off then switch
the hold switch at the top edge of the player to hold (showing orange) and then hold the "Record" button
on the side until the player turns on with a black screen, saying it is
in recovery mode. Some people have said they had to hold both "Power" and "Record" to make it work. Run the recovery tool software and you should be running again.
I would recommend you to go to the sandisk site to update the firmware on your device or you can contact sandisk to they can help you with updating the firmware on your device..Please follow the link below to get the firmware http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.
- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds) - Slide the hold switch into "hold" position. - Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.
Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.
