Try taking out the ram and putting it back in then if that doesnt work then try shutting down the comp , taking out the battery taking out the power supply and then pressing and holding the power button for 20 seconds , by doing both of these it resets on the info on the ram , or resets the bios to defalt settings

Dell 1749 won't boot power light flashes 3 times

You've got an issue with your Memory or the Video Card.

When you plug in the power cord is there any lightswhatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of thepower cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous. Most times the problemis with the memory or Video Card. Count the Blinking Lights or Beeps and takenote of their pattern (1 Long or 1 Long followed by 2 Short).

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you wasoperating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cordis bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the powercord is bad.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove theBattery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the batteryout) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can putthe battery back in and let it charge.Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugsinto the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside thejack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have totake the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto themotherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.Maybe your memory is bad or the memory slot is bad.Remove the Power Cord, Remove the battery, Remove the cover that houses the memory then remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

The screen will not power up on my hp pavilion dv7 4065dx

Count the blinks and pattern of the caps lock light flashing. They tell the technician what is going on with the system. If this is happening as soon as you press the power button you are probably having an issue with the Video Card, Memory or some other motherboard related issue.

Does the system seem like it is up and running? If not, it's definitely one of the three issues mentioned above.

Remove the Power Cord, Remove the Battery, Remove the Memory Cover on the bottom of the laptop, then remove one of thememory chips. The link below will gives you the blink code listing from hp website. When it opens up scroll down to to see what the blinking lights pattern means as to the cause of your system not booting.http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01443366&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=uk&lang=en&rule=26781&product=3816592

Just Yellow when? Tell us what happens time you put the power cord in and press the power button? Does it try to boot? Do the lights blink? Hear any beeps? Hear any fans? Does anything ever appear on the screen?

You boot files could be damaged. Try booting up in Safe mode. To boot in to Safe Mode. Press the F8 key while booting up and you will get a list of booting options. Choose the Safe mode. If you are able to boot up in Safe mode, then the next normal boot should solve the issue.

Fujitsu lifebook n5010 notebook won't reboot i let the battery run out while working. next day, turned on three loud beeps, then three loud beeps then fan runs but no display on the screen. power off,...

Okay, sounds bad.

However, take out the battery from the laptop and remove mains lead. Go and make tea! Then, drink it. Once you have complete this task.

Plug in the AC lead ONLY into the laptop and then try to power it on.

You should see lights on the Hard Disk LED or hear a beep. If you see them but nothing on the screen at all when booting then the capacitor pack has probably gone on the screen. This is not an expensive part, but you do need to know what you are doing to replace it. Think it time to give it to the workshop or ask IT bod to look at it for you.
