Memory stick it says that the memory stick has been locked

Easy.

Remove the memory stick from your camera and examine closely. There is a tiny switch on one edge, see picture, switch is ringed.. Push the switch into the UP position. This will unlock the card.

Camera keeps telling me to reinsert the memory card. I've tried to new cards. When I put the memory card I was replacing because it is full, it goes back into the camera just fine.


As a last resort you could copy the full card to a computer and then delete the pictures on the card and use that again.

Here is the error list from the camera manual.
This is all I can suggest from here.

Cyber shot camera dscw350 cannot take pics read only memory card


Look at your memory card or stick.

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. Memory sticks have a slide switch just below the contacts. Slide the switch away from the "LOCK" position to unlock the memory stick.

My sony cybershot 3.2pixel camera tells me that the memory stick is locked What can I do to fix it.


The lock switch is located on the bottom of the Memory Stick, next to the connectors (see picture below). Move the switch to the other end of the arrow to unlock the Memory Stick.

My memory stick does not have a lock or unlock position.


Do not use the computer to erase a memory stick. If your pics are safely on the computer and you want to completely erase the stick, use the format function in the camera.

Have had this Sony camera about 7 yrs and never had a problem..today I went to take a picture and I get a message that the Memory Stick is locked.?


check the memory stick for a small plastic switch with a picture of a lock beside it, make sure it is not turned on.

I think catcher-lock in memory slot is defective in your PC that's why memory card is stuck there. Use tweezers to pull it back as temporary solution and ask nearest Sony service center for replacement of defective part.

You need to replace the damaged memory slot with new one. If you know basic electronics and have tools for replacement, pls goahead.

You have a bad sector on the memory stick.

Download the data to a computer and format the stick.
