  • Anonymous May 26, 2009

Had the copier serviced before and after a short time later came back with same problem with paper not going through and copier comes with "Check Document Open ADF". Sometimes original document gets stuck half way through top roller and other times document will not be fed through first roller.

Well, open the adf and see if there's anything jammed in there. While you are at it, clean all the white out off the rollers and the scan glass. Then make sure the ADF cover is snapped shut properly

Hello,
It can be the problem in sensor flapper on ADF tray ( small nose that is pointing out ). Maybe it doesn't works fine or in the middle of the copy from adf the paper is too far away from the sensor.
Also can be the problem of ADF pickup clutch or You are using unappropriate paper type- try with normal A4 80g/m as original to copy from adf.

Hope that something of this helps You!

It sounds like you have a sensor actuator stuck up in the ADF housing. Look for a slot in the ADF paper path in the middle. The actuator could be caught in the slot.

Cannot clear error message "Document

Hi nigel_lester,

This error message "Document in ADF" that you are getting means that you need to remove foreign object from the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). Kindly follow the procedure below in clearing document jams:

  • If documents remain in the ADF after pressing during scanning, [Document in ADF] will appear on the LCD. Press so that the remaining document is automatically fed out.
  • When rescanning the document after clearing the error, rescan it from the first page.

Check document. Open the ADF code is constantly

If there is no button you should be able to lift it from the middle of the adf (right to left). Make sure there is no paper, paper clips, staples etc in there, and clean any sensors if you can see any. If you cant and it still says it, then you will need to get a technician to check the sensors inside the adf.

Canon MX330 - trying to use ADF. No doc inside on

Canon Pixma MX330, ADF error, Code : 2,103,0
Here's what I found. There were no stuck gears or pieces of plastic caught anywhere.
The ****** can still feed paper, except for (consistently) the last page -->error/stuck.
1) In order to CLEAR THE ERROR you need to do two things
a) & b):
a) Press OK, WITH THE HOOD OPEN, with a piece of paper loaded in the ADF, being careful to grab the paper manually as it comes out of the bottom of the hood.
b) Windex the strip of glass surface which sits under the ADF next to the platen. This needs to be done with attention to minute detail, and a bright LED flashlight; since ink smudges off of documents and collects on the glass with alarming frequency. The machine may think these smudges are caught/jammed paper.
2) In order to SCAN a stack of paper, add one blank sheet to the bottom of your document. This page will be the one that
fails to clear the ADF, generates an error, and must be manually cleared before the next job.
The rest of your pages will have already scanned.

Repeat Every Time You Use it

I have a message coming up that I don't know what it means.

ADF = Auto Document Feeder (Usually on top)

RADF = Rear Auto Document Feeder, (On the back)

Something is stuck in one of these, a piece of paper, foam, paperclip, twist tie . . . it could be anything. Follow the squealing sound and check the paper feeder rollers.

Find what is in the way and remove it.

Cheers.
