This is a frequent complaint with the following known  solutions:

  • You might be drying them too long. back the time down so that the cool down cycle happens right as the clothes are dried.
  • Try smaller loads.
  • You should dry heavy fabrics and light fabrics separately.
  • Fabric softener in the washer may help to prevent wrinkles from forming in the dryer.

Why are my business shirts on a gentle cycle or any wash cycle so badly tangled togther?

Hi Stella,

I suspect the tangled shirts coming out of the washer is a result of the differences between the way a front loader vs a top loader clean clothes and can not be avoided. I don't think this is the source of the wrinkles though. I suspect the wrinkles are more a result of how long clothes remain in the dryer *after* the cycle has completed. If you remove the clothes *promptly* from the dryer and use a "dryer sheet" you will reduce / minimize the wrinkling you're seeing.

Wrinkles clothes terribly. Solutions.

Check your settings on your dryer. See if it's on a longer duration of time to dry. Dryers have different wording depending upon the make and model. If you're trying to dry smaller loads the heat settings s
does not have to be set for very long. Heavier, loads with thicker clothing will need to dry a little longer. When you take the clothes out of the washing machine, do you shake the clothes before putting them in the dryer? And do you use dryer sheets? Believe it or not, they're not only used to help make your clothe's smell fresh but they also help elevate static and a few wrinkles.

How can I get less wrinkles in my clothes after wash cycle is finished?

I use the dryer to get the wrinkles out. If i have a wrinkled shirt that is already dry and I need to wear it, I put it in the dryer for a few minutes with a wet wash rag.

How to remove wrinkles from polyester table cloth?

After unfolding a new tablecloth, you'll quickly notice those pesky creases. Even after washing and drying the tablecloth, they may still be there and with wrinkles too. Before you iron a polyester tablecloth -- which if done incorrectly may burn, melt, stain or shrink the fabric -- try rewashing and drying it in a manner that reduces wrinkles and helps get rid of creases. Then, iron only if necessary.

Hi Julie, I'm not certain which model you have however, is it possible the washer is somehow introducing hot or warm water in the rinse or final spin? because that could certainly manifest in wrinkled items. I know most of the "true european" machines only have a cold water connection and then heat the water based on cycle & temp. selection, but like I said, admittedly I don't know what model you have and thought this could be something to consider or dismiss. If it does indeed have hot water mistakenly connected you can see how that would be bad. Let me know just to clarify, if thats not it than it's one less thing it could be and from afar finding solutions is often a process of elimination. This will move everyone forward if nothing else. Thank you for visiting "fixya", I'll watch for your reply. Good luck. Macmarkus :)

Clothes and sheets come out wrinkled and twisted

Try not to wash large items with small items the large items like sheet will twist around the small item. causeing twisting and wrinkling. Also If you are overloading the clothes or underloading the clothes they will come out wrinkled. I would try to do some testing wash a load of only towels then wash a load of only t-shirts and other light weight items that you may have. Then do just a load of your jeans. What happens? Please let me know

Close very wrinkled

I have the same problem with clothes being very wrinkled and clumped together after a full cycle. I believe it is not because of the spin cycle, but because the washer using very little water to wash the clothes, so they bunch up easily and are not free flowing. NOW, I try to use the cycle that uses the "Deep Clean" action or I activate it manually with all other cycles. It adds more water to the cycles and the clothes come out wrinkled, but not as much. Try it.
