Nitendogs Hi, in my game I don't have money and mu dogs did not want to go to a contest because they are hungry. What can I do?

try taking it on a walk to the park where it can meet other dogs and try to play with it if this does'nt work you might have to reset it

the game does that it cant be helped u have to wait awhile like a few hours then it should work if u leave the game in ur ds without playing on it hope u've gotten it to work

I cant figure out how to play this game


just buy a dog brush him, wash him, enter him contests, feed him and give them a drink by buying stuff from the stores you also can go on walks and pick up presents for your dog to play with but you have to keep up with your money or else your dog will be very dirty hungry and thirsty and if that happens you will be playing for about 15 minutes just to get him back to normal you also can buy more dogs and you only can have three in your home at a time but you have a doggie hotel thing that looks after at most 5 more dogs

Walking the Dog There is no indication on how badly a player's dog(s) needs a walk, but it is recommended that each dog should receive at least one per day. After a walk with any particular dog, that dog will not be able to take another walk for 30 minutes. Players also earn trainer points for walking their dog. The amount of points varies depending on the length of the walk, and activities participated in on the way, such as agility training. To go for a walk, the player must tap the GO OUT icon on the main screen and select the WALK icon. Then the player chooses the dog they want to take. After choosing a dog, the player sees a bird's eye view of the town. They then make a trail of the route they want to take with their stylus. Outside of the player's virtual home, the dog is put on a leash and taken for a walk around the neighborhood. Sharply jerking the leash forwards and holding it there will cause the dog to run; jerking the leash upwards while running will cause the dog to jump. Special areas around the map include two parks. Players can walk their dogs to one of two parks to practice for Disc Competitions, feed their dog to ward off hunger during the remainder of the walk, play with their dog, or have their dog socialize with other dogs. Players are able to tell if there are other dogs and how many are at the park on the map by an icon within the borders of the green park area showing one dog, two dogs or no dog. There are never more than two dogs at any park, and there is always a completely abandoned park to facilitate Disc training. Another location is the Gym, which contains agility equipment for training dogs for the Agility Trials. Depending on what contest level the dog is currently at, different obstacles will be usable. For example, a dog in the Open Class will not be able to utilize the see-saw, while a dog at the Champion level may be trained with all of the equipment. Dogs may also walk to a discount store where most items are discount price. These items will not include rare items found only on walks, such as RC Helicopters, Moai Statues, Knit Hats, Jack Russell Books, or Dalmatian Firehats (It should be noted that Jack Russell Books and Firehats are especially hard to find). Dogs can encounter other neighborhood dogs and their trainers, who often give advice to the player. Whenever a player's dog encounters a neighborhood dog they can either fight with the dog or play with the dog. Boxes (Which vary in color depending on version) with question marks in them mark areas that may contain neighborhood dogs or presents. Some areas contain hidden presents that are not marked by a question mark. A dog will not automatically collect them, so the player must cue them to do so. If a hidden present is seen, tugging the dog's leash towards it while the present remains onscreen will cause the dog to pick it up, earning an extra item. The key to causing hidden presents to be generated is to go back on the next walk and go over the same area where ordinary presents had been found. If the dog icon on the top screen stops moving but the dog on the bottom screen is moving, then either a present or garbage is coming up. If the current dog being walked is hungry or famished, it will locate garbage in place of presents and will eat from it if the player does not pull it away. If the dog eats the garbage the player will lose trainer points, and the dog becomes temporarily sick, which negates the player's ability to have the dog go faster than a slow walk. Certain items can allow the player to unlock more dog breeds (e.g. Fireman's Hat: Dalmatian; Jack Russel Book: Jack Russel Terrier). If the dog's icon suddenly stops moving on the top screen while the actual dog continues to walk, it means that either a secret present or garbage is ahead. Dogs give no clue on walks if they are hungry, so it is beneficial for the player to slow their dog down in case the upcoming item is a hidden present rather than garbage. If a dog smells urine on the ground (marked on the upper screen map by large, medium, or small dots, corresponding to large, medium, and small dogs), it may be tempted to urinate over it, but tugging the dog's leash will get it to start walking again. A dog may urinate at a random point as well. Dogs may also **** in random spots, but tapping on the **** will pick it up and dispose of it in a paper bag. If a player does not dispose of the **** they will lose trainer points, and will get told off by another dog owner if they meet another dog. A dog's leash can be tugged to avoid **** completely (although this is not entirely recommended). Training Training includes agility, disc-catching skills, or a new trick. All training functions on the idea that the longer each dog practices, the better they will become. Practicing often is also beneficial, as it largely prevents the dog from forgetting what it has learned. The various sports require practice at different places. To train for agility, the player must walk their dog to the Gym, where needed equipment is set out for practice. Disc Competition training takes place at one of the two parks, but is difficult unless the park has no other dogs in it. Obedience is trained for while the player's dogs are at home, again, this is best facilitated by the dog in need of training being the only dog present. Other dogs can be placed in the Dog Hotel while not needed. Contests The contests you enter your dog in help you to earn money so you can buy that new house or more dogs. There are three contests: Disc Competition, Agility Trial, and Obedience Trial. In each of them, there are 5 classes: Beginner, Open, Expert, Master, and Champion. If you place in the top 3 in a contest, you will receive a prize money that will be larger depending on which contest you have entered, what place you finished, and which class you are in. Also, you will advance to the next class, or stay in the championship. If you do not place, you will go down one class or stay in the beginner. If you place first in a contest's championship, you get £600/$600 for Disc, £1000/$1000 for Agility and £2000/$2000 for Obedience. Disc Competition The competition is based on which zone your dog is in when he catches the disc. The zones are marked by the different colors on the field. The five zones provide you with points as odd numbers: 1-9, and 1 bonus point if your dog jumped to make a catch. You will have 60 seconds to get as many points as possible. Agility Trial In this competition, the dog is lead around the course with the stylus. There are 5 different obstacles that will be encountered in the agility trial: the jump, the tunnel, the long jump, the see-saw, and the slalom poles. The jump and tunnel appear from the beginning, the double jump and see-saw appear in the open class, and the slalom poles appear in the expert class. As the player advances, the courses become be longer and offer more challenges, making a total of 15 courses, which are chosen randomly when the contest is begun. Obedience Trial The judges will ask the player's dog to perform several combination of tricks (e.g. Lie Down, Sit, Shake). They then progress to single moves that must be held for a period of time (e.g. hold Beg for five seconds). The final portion of the competition is freestyle performance, in which the dog has thirty seconds to perform any desired tricks. With the exception of freestyle, if the dog performs a trick that has not been asked for, if the player runs out of time without completing the trick, or if a move is not held long enough, the player's score will suffer. A significant part of the contest is also about the quality of the dog's grooming; a well-brushed and bathed dog will score all-around higher than a filthy one. Bark mode Nintendogs supports a link-up method through the Nintendo DS's built-in wireless networking capabilities. A player can link his or her system with that of another person who owns a copy of Nintendogs to let the players' puppies play together. This is called "Bark Mode". If connected with a player who has a dog currently not in the current player's kennel, that dog will become available. Also, in the music section of the Supplies screen, players can use the White Record item to record a message. This can be used to say something to the other player. Dogs may also carry a present to give away for good to the other player. Dress up In Nintendogs you can dress your dog up by buying accessories or finding them on walks. The accessories include collars, bow ties, hats, and some offbeat items such as antlers and a rainbow wig.

How to make money


  1. Choose the dog with the longest energy bar.
  2. Take your dog(s) on a walk.
  3. Go to as many blue question marks as you can when tracing your route. Sometimes there will be a present and sometimes you will talk with other people. Make sure your dog is well fed until you take it on walks.
  4. Keep any presents you gain, such as a tennis ball, unless you have a ton of those.
  5. Sell the prizes you get at the secondhand shop if you already have thousands of the item. Sometimes, your presents might be a boot or a juice bottle. Boots sell for 9 dollars while juice bottles sell for about 80 cents. Your dogs don't like that junk, so don't give it to them.
  6. Go to the park or agility training center to train your dogs. The park is a great place to train for disc competitions, and the agility training center is specially made for agility competitions.
  7. Enter your dogs in contests. If you win, you get big bucks.
