Lite-On 1105 will not finalize when recording from... (by 2 users)

When I record via time recording and I go to finalize, it gives me a failure. It finalizes up to 92% and then fails.

I go to Tools and try to finalize a disc. The process finishes but when I go to put it in any dvd player, it doesn't work. Recording are from SLP to SP but no settings seem to work.

I have a liteon DVD recorder (1105) and I had the same problems......Exactly like yours.
So I opened the recorder and guess what??????? The light ray that burns the DVD was not moving.....I cleaned that thing that holds the light ray, so that it can move while burning and finalising.
The recorder is out of warranty any, so open it up clean it out.
