Question about JVC RX-6000V Receiver

1 Answer

I have virtually no FM receiption with my JVC RX 6000V Receiver

I own a JVC RX 6000V audio video control receiver # 8773124547 - I have no FM receiption - On the back of the unit there appears to be a jack for plugging in a FM antenna - (female in configuration) - It looks like it will receive a coax fitting - but that will not fit. also, it appears as if some kind of RCA connector would work - I am not sure - does anyone have some help for me to resolve my problem?
Your attention into this matter will be much appreciated.

Thank you

If you want to buy the antenna wire you could get one at radio shack that will plug into the spot you are talking about or as I used to do is put a small nail into the middle of the hole and wrap a wire, wire is 3 foot long longer the better, that is stripped around the nail, the wire only has to be stripped where it touches the nail, this is not the professional way to do this but it works the same, make sure not to push the small nail in to farand the nail fits the hole snug, Would recommend getting the one from radio shack but I have done it the way I said for ever and works fine. And you will have fm reception

Factory reset

If you have your owner's manual, the procedure will be in there. If you don't have the manual, please look on the JVC website for your owner's manual. There, you can download the manual, and once again, find the procedure in there.

First of all, it is bad form and potentially dangerous to be changing cables with speaker power ON. Second, IS the unidentified TV passing audio out those jacks? Its own audio menu and controls may be between the sound and the jacks.

For all we know you have the speakers defined as 'small' and all bass from their channels is being redirected to a subwoofer. Have you looked at the manual and adjusted all the speaker levels with test tones?

My rx-6000v acts like every thing is fine but can not get any sound. not even out of earphone jack. got any ideas?

It sounds like this unit is in protect mode. See hte link below for more info on that. One thing to check: turn the unit on paying particular attention to any clicking that you hear. You should hear an initial click as the unit turns on followed a few seconds later by another one. The second click is the speaker protection relay. If you don't hear the second click, then the unit is likely in protect mode. Feel free to post additional questions after review of the link information below.

I tried restoring the sound by pressing Muting on master volume. Auto Muting still appears on the display and I can't restore the sound.

"Auto Muting" is for FM reception only and means it will mute the FM audio unless the signal is strong enough to provide decent audio.

Re-evaluate your symptom and corrective actions for relevancy.
