Question about RCA Scenium HDLP61W151 61 in. HD-Ready Television

Color problem with television

Our 61" RCA Scenium DLP television has repeated problems displaying the colors correctly. Often when you turn it on, everything that is supposed to be red is blue and there are no red tones at all. It is connected to our DISH receiver via an HDMI cable and unplugging and re-seating this cable sometimes fixes it. I don't want to buy a replacement bulb if this is not the problem. I am suspicious that it is the HDMI connection in the TV itself?

High pitched or even fan like noise usually means the Color wheel which are hard to find/expensive for this set.

When you shut set off noise should wind down as the wheel which turns at over 10,000 rpm slows down.

The screen doesn't display and has no sound

I have the same problem with my 50".
My fix was to buy a new bulb from Tristate Module Inc., $113.
Installed the new bulb and the tv worked fine.
You may notice a grinding sound, this deals with the color wheel motor that needs to warm up to
work correctly. The new lamp will warm up the color wheel.

My 61 inch RCA Scenium, currently has sound but no picture appear

My exact same problem turned out to be the cable box not the TV. Try unplugging cable box for 5 minutes then power up! Solved my problem!

Dark picture on RCA Scenium 61 in DLP

Yes, the lamp will gradually get darker as it nears it's end. The rolling lines sounds more like the set is on a local channel for the cable hook up. If your local area has a channel 3 or 4 live terestrial broadcast simply tune the cable box output to the other one, the same for the tv.
If this is cable/local broadcast issue it will go away in Febuary when the NTSC broadcast ends.
