how do I get sound out of all my speakers while playing cd's

  • Anonymous Jun 15, 2008

cheap system? yes... however I still expected it to function properly! There is a buzz coming from the rear two speakers, I've seen that this is a common problem, I will research the next product before buying. I probably will never buy a Coby product again.

I am connected to the TV from the sound system. Of my six speakers connected, I can only get sound from the SW, and the front L & R speakers. No sound is coming out of the Center or Rear L & R. ...

You don't say HOW the 'TV' audio is carried to the RT2500? TV's are usually the end of the chain, not a link in it. For multichannel audio you need a multichannel digital source. Is that the TV or would it be the cable/sat box? Try running a digital audio cable from one of those to the RCA.

TV sound only thru front and sub woofer speakers only

this might be happening because the audio format for surround is not supported by the channel or affiliate of the channel that you are viewing does this happen on all tv channels or is it on just a few? if all sound while playing a dvd is proper and in working order than there must be an issue with the sound and or format of sound from the tv source. maybe more information would help me decipher this

anyways hope it helps

This is not a problem, this means that your system is working. Polar Express was recorded in Surround Sound with separate tracks for each speaker channel. In most movies you will find that the rear speakers will only play certain sound effects so that it appears they are coming from behind you (gun shot, train, fireworks). Most of the diaglouge will come through the center channel and music/effects through the front left and right, with bass coming from the subwoofer.

Now, you can still hear more from the rear speakers if you like this enveloping effect, or if you like your music coming from all directions. There are Sound Effects options to have the front and back speakers always playing the front track, there is Dolby Pro Logic II that turns stereo sounds (like many TV shows) automatically into 5.1 Surround Sound, and you can also individually change the volume of each speaker.

These are all explained on page 29 of your owner's manual under Sound Options. If you need specific button to button help, let me kow.

Stereo to 5.1?

When you switch your Sound Field to 2 Channel it should use all the speakers (although you'll notice it doesn't sound as loud as normal coming out of the center speaker). Auto Deco actually sounds good in this mode, in my opinion.
